Im even happier now with my Noct Crown. Its been sleeper OP in my lists for over a year with a 5++, a 4++ is insane.

Imagine trying to chew through 60 cultists with a 4++ on them.

I wonder if it's actually useful...

Just about everything other than Cultists has a 3+ save, and those cultists would be confined to the aura. IIRC, the aura only applied to units who were wholly in range.

Is 4++ actually better than 3+?

Farming CP would be useful if there wasn't a 1CP per turn limit. DAs / Sorcerers probably have better things to do than hang back.

In eight its models wholy within not the unit so still good. Remember not only sorcerers are psycher, legionaires with the book updrade

Noctlith Crown:  I don't take now and it doesn't look like I will in future.
Disco Lord: being limited to 1, makes fluff sense I suppose but its still a kick to the boys if you have 3.
Warpsmith: +1 to hit for Daemon Engines isn't bad.
Exalted Champion: equipment locked with no option to upgrade and reduced to re-rolling 1's to wound? Damn I was looking forward to running him with some melee EC..
-1LD auras units: good for Night Lords.

With the amount of -4 and -5 ap weapons in EVERY new codex, that 4++ invul is going to save you a million times more units than a now comparitively useless 3+.

So, is it safe to assume that Noise Marines are the same as current?

NM all their weapons are improved, +1A/W/LD.

Thank you!

Why would it be "safe to assume" literally anything here? Especially what specifically hasnt been noted, like noise marines.

I was just being a little cheeky. :smile.:

Got confirmation, mark of tzeentch is first failed save per unit.

Thanks for checking. Per unit takes it from amazing to awful, even if it's per phase. Especially since you can shoot garbage guns at a unit first, wait for a fail, then shoot the real guns. Oh well. Nurgle it is.

Its per volley. So still good.

I guess that's slightly better. Especially if for example you are Alpha Legion with -1 to hit.

I've been doing this with MoT Cultists under Weaver of Fates, sitting on an objective and using Conceal to force people to shoot them instead of my Havocs. The frustration level from my opponents trying to kill a bunch of chafe is funny.

  • Noctilith Crown changes are nice, but as at least one other posted has noted, terrain is often inherently problematic to use in 9th ed. Won't rush to buy one but it sounds like it might have some serious mileage.
  • Disco Lord limit doesn't bother me as I only own one. Still sounds good.
  • Exalted Champion changing from a sandbox unit to a locked loadout attached to a decade old Aspiring Champion sucks. Would be easy to build a much nicer one using the new Chosen kit these days, but still.
  • Won't hear any complaints from me about Noise Marines improving. :P

Only a fortnight or so away from Adepticon now; fingers crossed we get to see some of the new models there, even if we're not the next codex after Tyranids.

Locked exalt champ really sucks. The model is ancient and if people are taking it, they would convert their own anyways its that dated. I got one as a CSM squad champ, it doesn't cut it as a independent character model.

I like the aspiring/exalted champion’s rules, I guess. For once not sure moving an hq to elites was for the best, but if he’s bs 2+ the combi will be great.

I don't mind, our HQ's are already crowded out with DP, lord, sorc, DA. Exalt move to elite (executioner moving to elite?) doesn't really bother me.

I would agree. If he gives reroll to wounds of 1 for ranged, he'll be sitting pretty in my armies with a melta hitting on 2+.

Locked loadouts will always suck for us, we aren't loyalists and won't get the model support. Posseted continue to look better and better for my night lords, baked in -3ld and what I assume will be premium melee stats mean that they will probably be my go too for melee.
