I just want to know the stats for Obliterators, considering we know their weapons.

I will ask

Can you confirm if the Jump Pack option on the Lord has indeed been removed from the codex?

You guys will have to come to terms with that info, but yes I have already double checked (being a NL player). I am hoping its just an obsolete set playtest rules.

Given that you can still buy a Chaos Lord with jump pack (albeit in Finecast), I wouldn't be surprised if it does remain an option. At worst, it'll move to Legends - I just don't see them removing the option entirely.

At least, I hope not. I have three lovingly-converted Chaos Lords with jump packs, one of which is even my avatar on this board...

Thanks for keeping us in the loop and keeping the summary updated, Chris. Has your source got any info on what will happen with World Eaters?

Presumably we're getting our own codex eventually, but if we're not in the book and the codex doesn't come out at about the same time, then will there be some kind of interim document to keep us going?

Very sad to see no jump packs for lords, really lack mobility for HQs since bikes went to legends.

Saying that though, SM are already paying the price for the exploits of smash captains as jump pack captains are insanely overpriced so maybe we're not missing out on much anyway.

Don't suppose you've heard anything about the lord of skulls? Presume that's staying in the CSM book not moving out to the World Eaters codex?

Maybe some stuff is just left out of the play test copy? For instance, if the plague marine stats and rubric stats are set from their codexes, maybe you can still take them, but they don't reprint the rules because they don't want there to be conflicts when they update the other codexes?

Clockworkchris - you mentioned that the sorcerer in terminator armour now has the option for a familiar (makes sense, there's one on the sprue). Could you ask what the familiar does, and if it's meant to be on its own separate base or just added to the sorcerer's own?

So maybe that teased claw was Huron after all? Seemed too long for a marine size but admittedly can’t see the rest of the model.

Shame about the chaos lords. Just doesn’t seem like there are replacements for what is being taken away in terms of options, but in the end maybe we’ll end up with a good codex, so let’s see.

Yeah, Huron is odd to me, maybe we will see a new one. His current model is quite dated, so I'm not surprised that it's going out of circulation, but I would normally have thought they would wait until after the codex launch to do it.

My speculation on those characters is that they sell the vast majority of them in proximity to the book launch, which is why lots like the Space Wolves ones, etc. were cycled out.

The claw is a left-handed. Huron is missing the right side of his body.

And it's not like Games Workshop doesn't care about their own lore, after all Dominion Zephon is a faithful representation of the character... except he has black hair... and wears Mark VI instead of III... and has a left foot prosthetic, when he's supposed to have a clawed right foot and prosthetic replacing his left thigh... Wait a minute.

Huron

Gains a toughness,wound, attack & leadership

His claw doubles his attacks instead of being a powerfist.

My source doesnt have an image of huron but says that he believes it might be the flamer claw rumour engine.

So theory wise is there any reason other than cost to not take a terminator lord now?. The only reason I could see is because the unit he is supporting is in a rhino, but that means taking the over costed metal box in the first place.

I think most people agree that for 80 points the rhino is way too expensive and much too high profile, it's not an easy model to hide.

For me the options are:

Just don't invest in a lord. Simply put if I cant make good use of him I wont add it to my list. He needs to be in melee turn 2 ideally and 3 at the latest so if I have no good way to deliver on foot I will pass in favor of something more useful.

Termie lord in transport. I really don't like land raiders in the current environment, they are slow and with all the new dexes kinda squishy inspite of the profile, godhammer pattern lascannons are very basic and they cost a mountain of points. It's got nothing going for it and because more than 6 codexes use the land raider, it wont be buffed to usefulness until the new loyalist marine book drops (if at all). You have the option of forge world vehicles but most either compound all the problems the LR has or offer deep strike.

Termie lord in deep strike. Probably the best option I think Night lords only need an 8 for the initial charge and with careful deployment you can set up for a sure fire turn 3 charge. We don't know what will be available to help charges (strats, traits, relics, point buy) but honestly this seems like the most efficient option at the moment.

Or maybe i'm just salty idk

Intrigued by some of these weapon restrictions, can see the box limits coming in obviously but some of the older ones like raptors seem almost less restrictive

Up to 2 special weapons

Up to 2 plasma pistols

Champ can take plasma pistol

There is three pistols and then one of each special in the box so you can certainly build all that from one box. I wonder if the specials will be one of each or whether we can take two plasmas.

Two plasmas and three plasma pistols isn't bad to drop down. 7 plasma shots, hitting on 2s with exploding 5s for black legion. If Haarken now gives rerolls in shooting too that's pretty nice to fish for 5s
