Also received confirmation that basic weapons such as lascannons, chainswords and bolters have all the same profile as before.

Boooooo. I wanted something special for bolters. That's unfortunate.

Bolters being str 4 and no ap for DG and CSM is criminal, especially after the recent fleshborer stuff. That said, at least there are a few ways to give bolters ap 1 even if it takes giving up other stuff.

That Iron Warriors reducing ap 1/2 by 1 is also looking better and better.

Some more info.

Stratagems:

-+1 to hit to CHOSEN or TERMINATORS

-fire frenzy: HELBRUTE at the end of the shooting phase, if it was hit, can fire at the unit that shot at it or shoot at the nearest ennemy unit

Lets break down some hypothetical Iron Warriors numbers:

10 terminators with mark of Flame, and Icon, with 5 combiflamers and 2 heavy flamers, shooting both profiles with exploding 6's as we want to deepstrike turn 2, will put out on average 22 flamer shots, 10 heavy flamer shots, and 36 bolters.

Having tested this, PER VOLLEY ignore 1 from Icon of Tzeentch is very, very strong. Its a free save anytime you are shot.

22 S4 -1ap, 1D
10 S5 -2 ap, 1D
36 S4 -1 ap, 1D

Now for 1cp we can make those bolters hit on 3's even double firing, and the flamers are all auto hit obviously.

For 2 cp, you can add +1 to wound from Vets.

So you are looking at killing like, a full flat 30 man of Gaunts no matter how well they roll.

And you havent even charged yet to get your 31 (Or more) 5S, -3ap, 1D accursed weapons.

People still whining about their army being destroyed by these leaks need to get a grip, because chaos is looking to be VERY good.

I really doubt the reduce to zero damage mark is gonna be per volley. It'll be like the helix gauntlet for infiltrators. That's a 10pt upgrade and let's you ignore the first failed save per turn

If the current trend of brain melting power creep continues it would have to per volley just to be as good as MoN.

Basically makes the unit immune to any unit with a single shot. It's just too strong an ability as far as I can see.

They have entire armies that can't be hit AND wounded on 1-3, with army wide 4++ invul saves, and bodyguard rules to outright not be shootable, but ignoring 1 damage roll per volley blows your mind? I just showed you that its easy to get 30 wounds off a single unit, so hows negating 1 of those help? Its strong, but its not that strong.

Thank God for the +1 to hit on terminators. It's such an important strat. I even use it for my Blightlords that hit on 2s with tallyman already anyway.

But it's also close to useless against low quality and/or high volume weapons, unlike mark of nurgle. I hope it works per volley because that would be really interesting with being very powerful in some cases and very lackluster in others.

Thanks for all your insights Frater Domus. Do you have any informations on chaos spawn, please? Do you know if we can expect new kits apart for the already known new chosen we saw in the last 40k box set.

In the same leak that predicted the Chosen and Warpsmith, it also included Possessed, Cultists, Bikers, Mutant Cultists, & Cultsit HQs/Characters. Judging from the new Combat Patrol, which doesn't include the MoP, Oblits, or Venomcrawlers, we can also assume that those will be getting their own stand alone kits, seeing as how the only place to get them currently is the Start Collecting
