Temper your expectations brothers, the same artist took a large chunk of artistic liberty with both the Ademch and GSC codexes. The weapons and dudes you see on the cover are very unlikely to get rules. I kinda prefer that, let my imagination and kitbashing mind run wild

The art is super rad and a nice change of scene from the old art. I look forward to seeing more from this book

I don't disagree on principle, but that Chaos Space Marines do not have a multipart Chaos Lord or even a generic Chaos Lord at all cannot be ignored. That is a significant problem with the faction, moreso than Possessed or Bikers being old.

What were the liberties taken in the gsc and admech cover?

Isn't there a multi part termie chaos lord?

There's the old Terminator lord which is multipart, but not that I see on the store. I see the old as heck Night Lords one, the BSF Black-Legion embossed hammer lord and the old Terminator Lord mentioned before.

Edit: Sorry, I misread. Yes there is for terminators, but no, not for standard CSM. The Terminator one is old as hell.

I want my duel wield cc chaos lord back so bad. I hope I hope it's an option again.

He never went anywhere??
There is no model for that though, so it's probably going the way of the combi-weapon and jump-pack.

Miniature of the month is a cultist and there is a Chaos Space Marines collectible coin... At the very start of the month...

That's weird. I was not ready for that.

Maybe we can expect for a pre-order reveal at the end of the month and release early June ?

Gotta speed-up the leaks Chris ! :biggrin.:

I had a look at GW's past articles and the preview of the Tyranids cover came about a month ahead of the full release, so yeah I think early June is very likely.

IIRC it was also stated in some of the rumours that we wouldn't see codex CSM 'before June', so it sort of lines up with that.

Hey Chris, if this isn't a safe question, just let me know but... if I were to go out and buy CSM models as a World Eaters player (who plans on shifting to Brazen Bulls in interim) what should I buy and *not* assemble yet?

Well we better get a dual wielding options with rule support like the Eldar did.

It could be a chosen. They're already supposed to get an option to give one of the models in the squad a pair of accursed blades or whatever their melee weapons are called. It's supposed to represent the lightning claws on the sprue, but could just as easily be an axe & a sword.

Im hoping oblitz can take an icon. The volume at AP2 would be great and even get through AoC. Not counting any cover shenanigans.

Current rumor is they don't even get marks - core and character only and obliterators aren't core.

Yeah I've been thinking about that. It seems really weird to make things in this codex that cannot take marks at all. I understand if they cannot gain the benefits of the bonus effects.

E.g. it would make sense if certain units did not gain fight first even if they were marked Slaanesh, but Chris's comment that certain units cannot take marks at all seems very weird. The idea of having units that cannot dedicate themselves to a god does not seem fun. Playing with marks is sort of our thing.

But Chris' leaks say that Possessed get both marks and icons? And Warp Talons get marks but not icons...and then yeah, Oblits get neither. It's a very weird way to do things and I hope at the very least they added marks to Oblits before they started printing the codex...

Where to get more? What is N&R?

I need mooooooooore

N&R is shorthand for News, Rumours and Board Annoucement subforum. We'll get more today at 5PM GMT as this is likely to be a leak from the Warhammer Fest Stream this evening
