TheGodOfHammers
Was that verbally in the presentation? Because the article just says "accompanied by" which suggests but does not indicate they are part of the same squad. When CWC posted the big mutant rules, I imagined something more like ogrynn or rat ogres. These... are not that. Super cool, but to me they seem more like spawn than mutants. That said, the mutants are more twisted than I expected as well. Interesting that for the cultists GW went all in on the Blackstone Fortress cultist design. Not my preferred aesthetic, but not horrible either. Hoping the kit comes with autoguns for everyone and not just pistols and melee weapons - if it does, I would expect it to also have the current cultist "heavy" weapons (flamer & heavy stubber) as well as a grenade launcher (as the blackstone cultist have one) as well as a flamer option for the squad leader (again, because the blackstone cultist leader has one). Yes, it was mentioned during the livestream. The big model release leak that was posted a few months ago also mentioned that the big mutants would be absolutely more vile looking than possessed/the other Accursed, so I'm pretty sure these are them Dr_Ruminahui 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371366-what-to-expect-from-9e-csm/page/98/#findComment-5823035 Share on other sites
Balthamal
Overall some decent stuff in there, would have liked more however, at the very least bikes/chosen or a new daemon engine Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371366-what-to-expect-from-9e-csm/page/98/#findComment-5823069 Share on other sites
Sersi
I'm super hype about the new prince. Shame he won't be coming out for a while. He's got a cool gun, wonder if it will be worth taking or if it will be just the current warp bolter (assault 2, S4 AP1 D2) I don't know how seriously we can take the hosts but they said it was the return of the Kai gun. Voodoom
I'm not a big fan of the cultists. I'm disappointed they went all in with the Blackstone Fortress aesthetics. They are nowhere near miserable enough, I miss the Vraks militia design. If so we'll probably get the rest next year. Marshal Loss
What a fantastic set of reveals for CSM! Gotta admit that the DP looks great despite being a dual kit. Happy to be wrong. Possessed, finally! I don't like any of these sculpts on the whole as much as I love the Greater Possessed, but with the right paintjob they are still going to look great. They're growing on me. Cultists look good; not my jam. Accursed Cultists are much more my jam. The Torments are absolutely brilliant - need. The Dark Commune sculpts are actually pretty cool. Even more excited for the book now. Add World Eaters & points updates finally being free, easily the best online preview I've seen from GW. Valdr Fell-fist
Does anyone recognise the sergeant/character with power axe and plasma pistol, at 0:50 of the video? Toldavf
Well this is all very exciting, but no rules preview!. I need ma crunch!. I would like them to preview some guns, so far all we have seen is allot of melee units and no firepower to support them with. Iron Inspirit
I must be the only one who likes to run chaos without heavy corruption, like 4th legion are shown doing in even the most recent siege of terra lore, so this reveal has been a big ol' flop for me. Not a single model shown aside the basic cultists, which just got minor blackstone fortress changes isnt just corrupted out the :cuss. Hope they give us rules for things besides these, all melee-focused chaos corrupt units. WrathOfTheLion
The previous stuff (Warpsmith, Chosen) were more in that alley. But if you play like Word Bearers, etc., this is great stuff. acrozatarim
There's what is probably a traitor guard silhouette among the previewed outlines, probably for Kill Team, which will hopefully provide some variety for cultist appearance options. Iron Inspirit
As someone with a metal warpsmith model that looks just great along with my other iron warriors, and 30 chosen with MKIII helmets I custom made (The new chosen just look like standard black legion chaos), GW hasnt offered anything new, at least for me. I've even got 60 black stone fortress cultists I bought years ago, since they were far better looking than the old little 5 box of cultists with monopose. Guess i'm going to have to suck it up if my Nightlords want any of the new toys. Have to say I don't like that the range is increasingly more and more blubbery. SO much flesh for no reason at all and it looks garbage. Iron Father Ferrum
I'm pretty on board with most of this. The DP looks great so I'll probably get one to supplement my Diaz sculpt. I have enough Cultists (with autoguns...no need for more pistol/CCW fellas), but the Commune looks fantastic. Not a bug fan of the Accursed or Torments -- a little *too much* body horror for me -- but the Possessed are fantastic and I'll definitely get some of them! Big reveals for you are later in the week then. Every csm player who prefers their traitor marines frozen in time since the seige of terra has an entire game's worth of minis coming soon. That sounds more snarky than I intend it to be, but yeah. 30k model line aesthetic seems to be all about that more restrained grimdark feel. techsoldaten, Lord Abaia, Iron Father Ferrum and 4 others 7 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371366-what-to-expect-from-9e-csm/page/98/#findComment-5823226 Share on other sites

Torments are also a great excuse to go wild converting some Ambots with daemon bits if you want to use them in an IW army. Then just use modded Negavolt Cultists for the Accursed. I'm also hoping that Traitor Guard silhouette is indeed somebody for Kill Team so that we can get 40K rules in a WD/download/etc. for them too. Since GW said the Traitor Commissar and Ogryn were "initially" only available in BSF: Traitor Command, maybe we'll see 8 Traitor Guard on a new sprue + those two thrown in as upgrades. MegaVolt87
Top half of the demon prince looks good, the alt AoS leaked heads look a bit better but we are stuck with the chicken legs still. I would have to mod out the derp elements of the possessed to get them to where I would like. The more armoured and blended possessed from shadow spear look way better than these do as stock models. A select few of the mortals look ok, the rest don't do it for me. No bikes reveal or more WE preview is disappointing. Overal non event for me. Gene
In my case, the dark horse of the reveals has to be the Dark Commune. It was one of the new options I did not care about in the slighest and why would I? Chaos Space Marines should be lead by Chaos Space Marines, not some mortal cannon fodder! I was expecting them to be just a bunch of cultists in style of the Abyss guys or maybe the GSC characters. But instead we got something from the Darkest Dungeon. The aesthetic looks just great, I especially adore the masked bodyguards, but the rest looks really cool as well. The psyker one is weird at the first glance, but the head seems to be a grimdark weapon, rather than belonging to the cultist themselves. Yeah, I like those guys. They went from complete "nah" to "yeah, I want them" in my eyes.
