Spectral Bob
So, my understanding is that if I want to play an Ultramarines successor (say, Fulminators) and I take "Inheritors of the Primarch" as my chapter tactics choice, then I am allowed to use Ultramarines Relics and Strategems, but not take any special characters. Is this correct? Additionally, are the 8th ed. Codex Supplements still valid? Thank you. For relics, special issue war gear is fair game but you can only take an Ultramarines relic through the use of a certain stratagem. Supplement is still valid! RWJP
You don't need to take Inheritors of the Primarch to get access to Stratagems, Relics etc.Simply by being an Ultramarines successor you get access to the Stratagems, Relics, Special Issue Wargear, Warlord Traits, Psychic Powers etc from the UM supplement.Inheritors of the Primarch then allows you to take the UM Chapter Tactic "Codex Discipline" instead of choosing your own custom tactic from the list of available options. Xenith
You don't need to take Inheritors of the Primarch to get access to Stratagems, Relics etc. Simply by being an Ultramarines successor you get access to the Stratagems, Relics, Special Issue Wargear, Warlord Traits, Psychic Powers etc from the UM supplement. Inheritors of the Primarch then allows you to take the UM Chapter Tactic "Codex Discipline" instead of choosing your own custom tactic from the list of available options. Incorrect: Relics of Macragge cannot be given to a CHARACTER model from a successor Chapter unless you use the Honoured by Macragge Stratagem. If you are a successor of any kind, you dont get free access to UM (or any primogenitor) relics, you need to use the stratagem for it. Inheritors of the Primarch allows you to copy/paste the UM chapter doctrine as opposed to picking your own, but doesn't give relic access. Warlord traits, special issue wargear, psychic powers and stratagems all specifically say that successor chapters have access to them. Basically, if youre using Inheritors, you might as well just call them ULTRAMARINES rules-wise, and save CP on the relic stratagem and get character access. They're still Fulminators by paint scheme and character names.
