Can Nightbringer reroll saves during overwatch without having to use a command point reroll?

I don't see why he couldn't. In fact, a Necron player may be inclined to especially do so, since the charge phase is distinct and separate from the fight phase, so preventing a wound from getting through would be very important if he was on, say, four wounds left.

My opponent didnt use a command point reroll. He rerolled every invulnerable save he failed.

No. The nightbringer does not have native invul rerolls, and I can't think of a way to give save rerolls without spending a CP reroll. If you ever play him again, I'd ask him to show you the rule that lets him do that, and if he can't, insist that he cannot reroll his invulnerable saves without spending a command point.

Thanks. It was a casual game and the charge distance was over 10" so I let it ride… but want to know just in case. A plasma blaster shot slipped through and finished off the Star God.
