The big leak proving accurate so

Major new releases/refreshes for Craftworlds and Chaos to come

Primaris taking a backseat for a while to come at least

Squats

MTO pre order promise has possibly worked, of the 5 or 6 boxes released with it none have sold out before general sale let alone day they go up for pre order

The 9th ed rules survey shows theyre realising some things/somewhat receptive to change

Good theme! Let's keep it clean, fellow Frater!

Biggest positives for me:

HH reboot. Just where they'll go we can't be sure, but I hope it rejiggles stuff to make the game very viable for someone who doesn't want to face super heavies and templates of doooooom. Lots of Space Marines should be the order of the day.

• Plastic HH!

• Quarterly balance dataslate is also a big one for me. Seems a positive result of the survey perhaps, though it could be too early.

• Another survey concentrated on the game of 40K predominantly. Maybe GW will adjust their rules accordingly if they want to be successful and they can see what's working and what isn't.

• I actually really like the Armigers for Adeptus Titanicus. The smaller they get the more likely we might, just might, see Epic one glorious day.

(What rumours about Squats then? Or are you just thankful for them in general lol )

Pleased to see Adeptus Titanicus has legs yet and +1 on plastic heresy.

Also kudos to GW for putting proper Kill Team rules in White Dwarf. Looking forward to facing my son’s Thousand Sons.

(Does that mean they are my thousand grandsons?)

Thanks. AT looking like its here to stay is another good one.

Squats is/was literally a word on its own from the correct so far rumour leak, we still dont know if its anything from Killteam to a scented candle

-Black Library has been excellent in the last few years, and I have enjoyed the works of Guy Haley in particular - he seems to be driving the lore forward with every novel.

-Primaris have finally become accepted, and they have evolved into a worthy update of the Astartes line.

-Specialist games are very good, I just wish Battlefleet Gothic would make a return in some capacity!

-Still hard to believe how good the Sisters of Battle range has become!

All that the OP says I conclur, plus:

- Adpetus Titanicus continues to provide ace fluff and miniatures, with nearly the entire range of Knights now represented in AT scale :)

- Absolutely superb SM release for AI, and now the Necrons will be getting planes!

- Loads of excellent recent and upcoming stuff for Necromunda

Tying BAs, DAs and SWs to the main Space Marines codex now means these Chapters are in a much more stable position going forwards. There have been several occasions from 6th -8th edition where these armies differed fundamentally from codex Marines in terms of their capabilities as new rules were introduced in one supplement and not carried across.

GW seem to have found a decent balance between representing their distinctive characteristics while ensuring they rest on a solid foundation of the main codex. While BAs seem to be abit behind the curve, it is a great improvement over the situation in 6th/7th or 8.5.

I think, technically, it actually make you the Emperor!

In terms of positives, HH is the big one for me. It feels like they might finally be giving it the support/attention it deserves.

The quarterly balance update is good news but even better is the fact they seem to have finally dropped their policy of only using points to rebalance stuff and are actually amending/buffing/nerfing datasheet rules and stats.

The survey was a good move and some of the options you could select may hint that they’re aware of some issues like the number of stratagems or complexity of the rules.

The smaller content drops in HH focusing on a specific battle with mission(s) is a return to form for GW. I would like to see that filter into 40k also, we don't really need the bonus unit introduced for 40k, I would be satisfied with the bulked out lore + the missions to play it under. So much to draw on in 40k- BA first contact with Nids, the final fall of Huron in the Badab war etc. It would let the studio put out content the execs might not want to commit to proper campaign books.

Firstborn isn't gone, and if the rumors are true they are getting a major release with the HH box, which will be good! more veterans to convert and play with

I can field my admech again without feeling too toxic after a long absence where they became godly.

The patrol box for black templars would be a great value for trying to get somemore tanks in my lists

To be honest, I have been spending all my time in the Mortal Realms for the last few years (BURN HIM!!) but the rumours of plastic Heresy brought me back running.

Good Ork release too, which I haven't dabbled with (yet) but were a lot of fun to see.

Sand thing for me, been playing AOS for a while but the severe lack of anything moving forward after the edition change had me change… and the black templars being awesome helped as well

I am happy that recently Blood Axes are getting some love, I will have to cram my Orks into a slightly more credible army list instead of just being an excuse to shove as many Killa Kans into a list as possible. The Kommando unit and the Krieg squad are gorgeous and I am currently working on getting some gas mask boys finished.

My Admech are in a stable place and I hear the rules are a bit fairer now. I've just got to learn in intricacies of the current codex. No easy feat judging by the mass of layered buffs, but I'll figure it out eventually. :)

The Battleforces look great, and hopefully it will get more people into the hobby.

I'm also really happy with how Blood Bowl is doing but that's for another time.

I appreciated their state of the game survey and their rather quick changes from it. Here's too hoping for more!

The new Black Templar releases are just incredible! I hope this is a sort of template they reproduce to varying degrees with other chapters!

I'm loving Angels of Death on Warhammer+!

Looking forward to what they do to Chaos Space Marines!

It might be too early to call it a recent 'development', but I was pleasantly surprized when reading the Dungeon Bowl article a few days ago. At the end of it there is a note that the article was edited due to 'misinformation'. It's still not as clear and straight forward as I'd like it to be, but it's a start. I hope this means that in the future we won't see anymore stealth edits without any acknowledgement at all.
