Brothers, here's my thread for fans of classic marines, yellow armour and upscaling. premise - are there others out there that ever craved a full company? does anyone else still prefer the power armour styles now termed classic (not to mention have drawers full of it)?

Some of the thoughts that will guide this build

- models will be upscaled to match primaris scale - mkX should have been just another mark!

- aiming for passive, alert, realistic posing, been in the field a few weeks not on a parade

- want bright comic colours with a suggestion of weathering

- aiming for standard company composition - 6x tac, 2x dev, 2x ast

- mix and match mkII - mkV armour for flavour around a core of mkVI & mkVII

- sgt name and background fluff for each sqd

- fifth company yellow black scheme, red and green spot colours for interest

- timeframe of a year

so the question as always, can i walk the walk, or as Dorn would say bare the gauntlet..

few heavy bolters to warm up on, these were mostly gw mkiii plastics very nice, reclaimed ebay buy, they even came with fist upgrade shoulder pads.  anyway think advancing cautiously, mkiii issued for heavy armour protection for short fire support, have a feeling any list could start with these guys

Galron - hope i can offer some motivation toward your own minators company

Smoke Frog - yes that image precisely describes my goal, do love they took the time to represent mixed marks of power armour, credit codex space marines 2008

thanks for your comments guys. this was a bit of a warmup batch, the rest of the squad to get to work on, but these were fun to paint. ok ive gotta reign thigs in, gee its hard to keep the weathering effects subtle once your started, but im happy with the candy yellow brightness which i want to kindof focus more on, games workshop style sortof.

ninth squad devistators are depicted, performing close fire support and leading from the front they are treated more as a tactical squad in the 5th comp. like a fatigued and over used favourite brush, command redeploys the squad in this role, but privileged access to the armoury is given in return. we can see a preference for the heaviest plate, as well as the compact drum fed heavy bolter of rare heresy era provenance. service studs can be observed, this is contrary to less experienced brothers holding devistator positions, but perhaps a billet in the ninth squad is desirable for the high level of deployment it sees. use of optics is less common, as these men are often at the bald face of action.

That devastator squad is beautiful but I have a question; are those heavy bolters underslung attached to Boltguns?

Wulf Vengis - those heavy bolters are off the MKIII horus heresy sprue

Gots some yellow to share with everyone - here's the first squad toward the company - 9th squad devestators.

These are really an up-gunned tactical squad in practice, being pressed into service by command with predictable frequency. The character of the squad has developed in kind, with a workman like blunt and intractable approach, the unit wades into enemy strength to trade firepower against grit and armoured plate.
