Well it's time for the February pledge but I'm going to make a dual pledge... my first unit of true scale mkiii wolves, Grey Slayers from the 13th company made out of cleaned up death guard plague marines. And the nature of my dual pledge is that it's also my entry for the Stubborn badge since I am not optimist on being able to complete it during February since I'm one of the slowest painters in planet earth and I'm focusing first on the bodies and will do heads, backpacks and accesories sepparate sooooo... here's it.

The unit

1st Month Of Hobby End

So there we go, I got my randomised pledge finished up for my first completion.

Also, I have so far done at least some painting every single day this year, very proud of myself!

I , ThePenitentOne, pledge to paint this fire team of Purestrain Genestealers in the month of February, 2022.

12 Months of Hobby Challenge, February 2022

The two models in the back will be new to me; the three in the front are duplicates of the models I painted up for my first fire team. These guys tend to paint up quick, and it it is my since hope to get a second pledge in February. I don't want to commit yet.

These guys, on the other hand, are already painted- they just don't know it yet.

Just have to get them on their bases before the end of day tomorrow!

I had thought I'd brought bases with me, but apparently I had not. So tomorrow will be a 700 km drive home, add bases and photograph! Lol

Well I fell behind on this!

I did a speed paint on mine, knocking it out last night from a primer to a passable tabletop level sans a base. I'm not sure if I can change my plodding along but the battle company might be a bit much for me since I got burnt out on marines a couple of weeks ago when I first tried to knock this guy out. Will still try it though if I can't change it!

So here are the before and afters:

For February I will pledge to have 1 Knight Armiger built and painted from scratch. Not sure on exact type yet.

Right, this time I'm giving myself as much of the month as possible. So;

I, Doobles88, continue on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of February pledge to complete, one Blade Champion, one Vexilus Praetor and 3 Sword and Board Custodians. Let's do this!

Luckily, I will have a few days off next week :D , for when I am planning to just relax, chill and do some painting.

So I am going to update my pledge for February.

This is what I have in the pipeline right now in various stages of completion:

1 Venomcrawler, 2 cultists, 1 Necron hero, 1 Chaos Sorcerer, 1 First Edition Chaos Terminator, my Chaos/ Necron Mash-ups and a random dwarf that had been sitting at the back of the pile of shame shelf (I think he is from Corvus Belli)

I think this should be do-able in February.

Starting this month on a quickie, need these done for the weekend.

I, Focslain, continue on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of February pledge to complete, 6 T'au Firewarriors.

Might add some pathfinders to this later and once I get the picture a squad of Infiltrators for my Ultramarines.

I, Dwango, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of February pledge to complete 1 FW Avatar for Craftworld Mymeara by month's end.

Edit: replaced the original with s sharper picture and better pose :D

I think I managed to miss the January deadline by some margin! Here is either one completion for Stubborn or Last minute. As the thread has been filled with wonderful big guns I'll be vowing something bigger for my Raven Guard for February! Vow coming in later!

Because January worked, despite losing a seek or so to bad weather and the tail end of new years, I'm going to commit to my whole plan at once and try and get it done...

GKT

5 Scarab Occult Terminators and an Infernal Master

SOT

5 Skitarii Vanguard and a Tech priest Manipulous

skit

21:45 and they are all based! We did it!

I, sibomots, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of February pledge to complete Black Templar Keep Project by month's end.

Note to Moderator and Event Organizer(s): If this "vow" per se is not applicable/appropriate, please let me know and I will unzip a box and do it the regular way and make a model with a SKU # instead. But I rather do this.. If it's all the same. Let me know (PM) thanks.

Caveat:

  • I'm referring to the Wooden Structure seen in the photo (it's actually two components - a 'base' and a 'structure on top' but that isn't important. The models seen in the photo are for relative scale estimation for those interested in size/scale)
  • This is not a "model", it is Terrain.
  • It is not ready for any paint yet. It still has some fabrication to do.
  • It is not something sold retail, I have to invent it as I go along (but it is "modeled after the BT Keep seen in many Codex"), i.e., it's recognizable.

Because of the nature of the vow the Criteria for Success are these steps, if you agree:

  • Finish actually fabricating the rest of the structure (Walls, windows, doors, defense cannons, trim, heraldry in Black Templar fashion.)
  • Prep-for-primer (gap fill, putty, plaster, etc..)
  • Prime
  • Detail Paint for special TT++ basis.

Edit Log:
Changed the URL/Image thing. I pasted the wrong code.

Edit: 6-Feb-2022: Weekend Update

Edit 10-Feb-2022:

Note to self: do not use plaster of Paris to texturize walls. Terra! It creates such a mess. Must... find... better... compound.

Terrain is a perfectly valid vow :tu:

Looks like a lot of work for a one month, definitely looking forward to seeing it progress

If I don't vow, it won't happen.  It'll happen.   I'm tempted to add, "By Grabthar's Hammer, I shall avenge ...." but that would be  "meme-bashing" and that is a Bad Thing for a BT to do.    Still, kidding aside.   It's actually doable and I just need to do it.  The kid is in college now, no one except for you know who to give me other things to do.   Thanks for the words of encouragement!

I kind of sort of got really distracted last month, because I fell down a Battletech-shaped rabbit hole. After like 15 years of not playing, a friend got me back into pushing tiny robots over hex grids, and I'm having a blast!

Anyway, for the month of February, I, TPS, vow to paint up 3 Adeptus Titanicus knights (1 Cerastus and 2 Questoris) and their cat friend. I'll also try to finish the Reaver from last month that's lying in partially painted subassemblies behind them.
