JoyToy JoyToy 40k - compilation (updated Jan 4, 2022)

I find it peculiar that the more recent horus heresy releases (AL, custodes, BA) have all released with their primarch/leader unit, with valdor as the one for custodes, but the IW didn't release with perturabo. I figure it will release sometime soon, probably like next month or few weeks at least. I could see it's also because pert is a rather complex design. 

 

I do raise a question, how do you think they would have the head/shoulder assembly done? Would they do it like horus where he had the head tubes and limited articulation and big shoulderpads (as is accurate to design) but sub-par articulation?

I'm happy for fans of the newer helmet designs. 

 

But as an old time gamer (since 3d edition) I'm sad that we probably won't get an old school design with the vox grill. Yeah yeah, old story, I know, but my heart really hangs with that one.

Same, was tempted by this if it was a one off, but they said they'll be doing more so hoping we get some heresy era helmets

Would be more up for an MK 7 or 8 helmet. Although I really thought about getting this one too. But the 7/8 is what still screams Space Marine for me.

That Razorback looks spiffy but if I get it, I'll be making a cover for the underside of the turret ring so the cables aren't dangling in mid-air. Never liked that on the actual model and I wish they'd fixed it for this toy.

 They released figs based on classic Sanguinary Guard a week before the new miniatures came out. Same with Deathwing Knights. I think they just want to make toys and don't give a :cuss: about what GWs plans are, new minis are just new toy opportunities.

That and GW probably don't want them spoiling brand new designs before they do. They're probably more than happy to let use older ones (plus then JoyToy can make a new version later anyway).

 

I wonder how long their development cycle is, as they'd have to get GW to sign off at every step I'd imagine.

i think Joytoy do a great job - except with skin complexions; they all seem to flat to me, need some shading/highlighting, just distracts from the otherwise high quality figures - IMHO.

Looks incredible. The face complexion seems a tad pale but in my opinion it is JoyToy's best Primarch along with Horus.

I thought perturabo was described as being very pale with dark eyes. Unless I'm thinking of a different passage.

To be fair it does look like a good joytoy figure. Lots of articulation too. Nice they included the hammer too, would have been easy to leave out to cut cost.

 

I'm sure Perturabo fans will be pleased. All 5 of them.

Is the Razorback the first tank?  Its a great looking model.  I've so far been able to resist the Joytoy line but if they bring out a Chimera or a Russ my wallet will crumble.
