Big fan. Seven-fold chant working in both command phases makes him an incredibly reliable CP generator, one of the best in the game, and +1 to hit is brilliant when thrown on various flavours of Terminators. Add in Tollkeeper and he's a superb accompaniment for a big blob of Blightlords (or VolCons, if that's more your style). I've taken him in every 2k game I've played since the codex dropped and not once regretted his inclusion.

IMO the Tallyman has one of the best models in the entire range (although as an Accountant myself I am biased).

When the codex dropped I was surprised the Tallyman didn't receive the "Litany" treatment, but the current ruling on Seven Fold Chant being used in each Command phase is most welcomed, given how quickly certain builds can blow through CP.

The Relic is great on paper, but I've found it has had little impact in game.  Although to be fair, I don't have an army of VolCon Dreadnaughts for him to babysit and if I did I might feel otherwise.  In our Army of Renown, I'd rather run him with Canker, which makes him a legit shooting threat.

Like all of our Characters it is annoying that his wargear is "as modelled" and as the model doesn't have a Plague Knife his datasheet doesn't include a melee weapon.

Since GW don't disallow its CP regeneration rolls on every command phase via FAQ, it almost ensure an "auto-take" slot in DG lists of any style.

Still only to a max of 1CP per battle round though right?

It really needs an FAQ, but I think the 1CP/round is for regained/refunded CP, this is just a free special CP from the model.

Correct, core rules say you can only ever gain an extra 1cp through regen

The relic has done wonders for me. I put him in a block of 10 Blightlords and make a moving castle down the middle. The mass shooting from combi bolters and reaper autocannons, paired with my DPs rerolls make them effective screen removers. The best bit is that I give them +1 to hit from their strat so my Volcon get's the Tallyman's buff and I have a lot of high volume shots with potential exploding 6's.

I've also used a fully kitted shooty PM unit with him and when plasma guns get lucky 6's your opponent will cry. The problem is trying to get the PMs safely up the board!

Our second best Virion for me ; He never leaves home without his trusty Relic ("Tollkeeper"), but I usually don't give him a Warlord trait as he'll probably stay with the shooting castle.

Backed by 2 Contemptors, flanked with a pack of 10 plaguemarines on each side, he absolutely ruins anything that comes within 24' ; I field 2 blight launchers and 3 plasmaguns in each squad, so the damage output in excellent against anything that doesn't reduce damage.

But it's an expensive castle : around 1000pts, as you also need a Chaos Lord for rerolling ones...

You got me to go back and reread his rules and I had missed he gives a +1 to hit to one squad within 6"

As I read it you allocate this +1 in the command phase and the squad essentially goes to ws/bs 2+ for a turn

Could make them quite the blenders! Just thinking what a squad of plague marines with cc weapons with that carry over damage strategem could do to a unit.....
