Raven Guard sergeant iconography and colors ....

I know RG veterans are white helm, white shoulders, and white arms. So are sergeants just a white helm? I'm making an RG tactical squad sergeant to paint and I'm foggy on the details.

Sergeants aren't automatically veterans. Sergeant is a rank and then Veteran Sergeant is its own thing with its own markings. In older editions you used to have to upgrade a sergeant to a veteran sergeant but that's not represented in game any more.

RG veterans and terminators have black helmets, tactical squad sergeants have white helmets. The 7th ed Codex states that white is the colour for all officer helmets but only says they're 'sometimes worn' so there isn't actually a hard rule. Most up to date info will be in the 8th ed codex supplement.

Thanks for the response. Another question I'm having a hard time figuring out whether the chest plate insignia is a dull steel or a not so bright white? A google search has been showing all sorts. The GW painting app of course shows an intercessor with the chest area covered by his arms holding his bolt rifle.
