Cheers gaurdian! The Havoc launcher is from the new plastic Contemptor dreadnought, it's a cool little bit!

Thanks gaurdian! The old School bikers are cool but they're really starting to show their age, even after I've mixed some newer kits in with them! They're all eBay Rescues from an absolutely mangled bulk buy box I got years ago. I managed to salvage these 12 and couple more which I have plans for (very Legends plans, mind you) but I now have 2 full squads of 6 Bikers ready to reave for Blackheart:

 

Terminators are up next I think!

Thank you both! I'm really happy with where the army is sitting at the moment although there's a few units I'm going to go back and touch up the paint scheme. The most recent units I've been painting all edges with Wild Rider red instead of just corners of panels and it's really making the red pop more. Paint schemes are evolving I think, unless you paint the entire army in bulk!

Every time I start an army I always start with a limited view or a theme in mind. Loads of bikes or loads of deamon engines for example. Then I start building the army and putting it together and I think "it'd be neat if I added X" and it spirals into having one of everything in the army (at least). I like options

 

I got my first 2 games of Crusade in last night, each with a different half of the roster. The first game was Vs Drukhari and the Rhino killed 2 units which were the only kills my army got. It was one of those kinda games!

The second was Vs Votann and whilst I faired better, I still was soundly smashed off the board and saw one lucky Magnarail do 16 damage over 3 turns with all 3 being Devastating Wounds. Ouch!

 

 

Both were great games and no one got any Battlescars thankfully so we ride another day! I got 2 Requisition points  for the games so I can add 200 points to my Roster. I think I'll add the Felgor and 3 more bikes

 

I also got these two built, they've been sat on my desk for years. Both have been scavenged for parts in their time so I've had to make a couple of swap outs

 

The Terminators are on their way!

Glad you had fun! That chaos lord model is one of my favorites, glad the new one coming out emulates him a bit.

I love the updating of the old metal dread using the loyalist weapon arms.  I too am quite fond of that old lord model, but I think the axe you've given it is really too wimpy and he deserves a larger and more impressive looking weapon.  The small axe might work if you want to use him simply as a chosen or an aspiring champion, but doesn't really for a lord, in my mind.

First thing I thought about was if that big chain axe from the legionaries kit would pin up to that lord or if the shaft would be too big for his hand.  There is also that demon sword from that kit but this guy just screams axe to me.

Whilst I love the model, I couldn't bring myself to use it as a Lord model with his size (plus he'd be unlikely to see the table with Ivar being the other option I have for a lord ). I tried another axe (the Forgeworld Chaos Sorcerer's axe) and couldn't get it to sit right so went with this one instead, the arm does look quite thin, I agree!

With the cork on his base, he's about level with a normal Legionnaire so I'm going to use him as an Aspiring Champion

Terminators have their colours blocked in for the most part, it's tedious work but they're starting to take shape. I've been distracted with painting some Treemen and Terrain up for a friend of mine

The termies are coming along nicely. By the way, some Dryads have a skeleton on their backs. When removed and added to a Chaos Marine it looks surprisingly Chaosy. If your friend has any unpainted Dryads perhaps they could chop off a couple of those bits and give them to you.

Thanks Tallarn! I actually think that bit would work well for the Possessed I'm planning, I've also got lots of the skeletons nestled in Ghoul back-hair from my Flesh Eater Courts army that would work really well here too (Possessed Wulfen). That's a great shout!

 

The red is starting to pop now, it's just time to do literally every other colour

 

As @Doctor Perils rightly pointed out, the helmets will need some extra highlighting (probably further into orange) to make sure they're not lost in the red body. I think this was a problem I had with the Tartoros terminators I did too
