Sanguard is a big benificiary of AoC, and new secondaries are ok(at least among marine secondaries they are great!). Still trying to find a suitable bunch of secondaries for my list(s). Currently won 1, lost 1 at 2k. Jolemai Posted July 21, 2022 Author Share Posted July 21, 2022 Just need to find a balance. 1-2 Warlord Traits with 1-2 Relics for up to 3 CP doesn't seem overkill, helps having Dante as Warlord for that +1 CP and not being locked into his Warlord Trait. Certain build are now out of fashion, like having Soulwarden as a second Warlord Trait, or going nuts with the Primaris Chaplain on Bike build. Karhedron Posted July 21, 2022 Share Posted July 21, 2022 Yes, the crazy Primaris Biker Chaplain was a favourite of mine but that is 3 CPs right there! It would need to be a very specific build to justify him now. Sang Priest with Selfless Healer and Armour Indomitus still looks solid IMHO as you save a CP per turn on the Revival stratagem (assuming you have anything to revive). A Jump Captain with Relic Blade and Inferno Pistol is a solid choice for buffing squads and is no slouch in combat either, even without WLT and Relic. If you want to get any further upgrades then I would look at Dante as he gets Chapter Master, a better stat line, free Artificer Armour and a free Epic Deeds strat for about the same price as upgrading the above character to CM. The Unseen Posted July 21, 2022 Share Posted July 21, 2022 Dante being your warlord and then not buying his trait seems like the go-to. And then the SP gets a trait and relic, and usually one other character as well. Chapter Champion or Judiciar are both worth spending the CP on their upgrades. If you want a chaplain, Astorath, or Lemartes if you have lots of DC seem good. Astorath is almost a Master of Sanctity, he knows 4 (His own one that gives the melee to-hit buff, Hatred, and then 2 of your choice) and chants 2, but only on a 3+. AoC on a unit with a 2+ save and good mobility combined with a points drop has just made them incredibly good.
