Warhammer 40,000: Imperium Community Thread

With Imperium having just become available in Australia, and the arrival of my first delivery, I'm pretty keen to get cracking on with the models.

I'd like this thread to be a source of inspiration and assistance to the community at large, where we all share our progress, colour schemes, and modelling as the collection grows into Armies.

Please feel free to share your own progress and ask any questions you like here.

I’m in the USA and we’re a bit ahead of you but behind the UK. I’ve been working on my chapter marines, with a lot of filing off of ultramarines iconography on the first few kits and my partner is doing the Necrons. I think the next pack will be our first with a new faction, with some mechanicus models.

I'm in the US and just received issues 15-19, so not too far ahead. As for painting, I'm way behind. Just added these to my 12 Months Challenge:

Started with the Lieutenant,

So, I am no stranger to The Royal Warden model, having painted Sautekh ans Szarekhan as commissions, and a third one for a friends Indomitus box as a custom Dynasty,

 

 

So, having watched several Youtubes covering the newest Congtrast expansion, I liked the look of Luxion Purple and wanted to give it a go, the model turned out ok, but I'm not sold on Luxion and I think I'd get better results from traditional paints to get the colour I have in my mind.

I hear you there!, I'm working on those assault Intercessors now (as White Scars) and i've been steadily shaving off those Ultra symbols ...

I'm going to be taking to the entire shoulder pad with clippers and adding some replacements from the DA Primaris Upgrade pack.

And I am officially caught up with the marines! Just need to decide how/who will be doing the terrain and mechanicus and the other half is batching the necrons now with a new paint scheme.

I've not been idle, but a certain Necron commission was QUITE the time-hog....anyways, I've got the first of the three Assault Intercessors, with the remaining two about 2hrs of work each from being done,

 

I also received my second Imperium delivery and some conversion inspiration struck....

Damn Grot, that Captain looks amazing.  Can't say I am hugely sold on the originals pose and the helmet look you have gone for looks so much more menacing.  I am torn on how to mine now...

@Brother Argent Yeah the basic pose really bothered me since the first time I saw it, and I knew I'd be converting it.

Yes, but it is an exclusive model- there is currently no way to give a Primaris Captain a plasma pistol and power sword. The only option for plasma pistol currently is with a power fist, and GW hasn't given out an updated datasheet for the Imperium Captain (like they did when the new Gravis Captain with multiple options came out), So you either use the Imperium Cpt as plasma pistol/powerfist or master-crafted powersword/bolt pistol with either a MC auto bolt rifle or MC stalker bolt rifle (or a special issue bolt carbine if you are DA).

@Lord_Ikka I haven't actually got through the Imperium paperwork yet (waiting for the 1st Binder), but it does seem like a mis-step.

Bit of a topic resurrection but here’s the progress my family has made on imperium’s necrons… I think it’s also got some indomitus models in there too as we just put all the necron sprues in the same pile.

Imperium isn't available in Denmark but was able to get the captain model of Ebay. So here is my conversion for a Black templar Marshall.
