Right now into the Matrix I think, after that Mad Max?

Excellent, so that's at least one going to go examine the wreck. Therefore, Reynard will go do the Drexler 'sidequest'!

For clarity can everyone sing out clearly with where we're all going?

Falk is probably more use in the hive with his high perception-based skills, but if the wreck needs someone with whatever kind of gun he is being issued he can go that way as well (and perhaps invest in a BS increase as he is the worst shot amongst the entire party...)

I'm a little unsure what to do with Scourge. Sorry about being out of pocket for the past 12-18 hours. If he survives his trials with Cephas, I'm pretty flexible as to what we do with him. His stewardship of the phial needs to be resolved, but I think he would be best suited to wherever a power armor clad maniac would be best suited, vis a vis killing stuff dead.

Bardas:

You will now require a series of Extended Tests. This should be narrated by you bearing in mind the nature of your task, and the character of your enemy.

You must make Five (5) Challenging (+0) Tech Use Tests, which will benefit from a Maximum Assistance from the other Technomants of +20. These Tests will be Opposed.

Questions in the OOC.

As the tests are opposed I assume I should narrate a little, then post the test and then wait for you to post a little depending on the opposed test result and then repeat?

There will be another opportunity to resolve the status of the phial.

Cephas is just engaged in a bit of rough and tumble with you. I'm sure it will fatal, er. Fine. Yes.

@Trokair, no mate, the Opposed rolls will be offscreen, so you won't know how you've done (at least not right away). Go ahead and write whatever occurs to you :).

It's true. Especially of the ones all the Arbitrators carry...

Fantastic little flourish at the end there, Tro. Nicely set up for our cliffhanger(?) ending.

Gentlemen, that is it for Act 1. I will tidy up a couple of posts where we're in media res, (Necro etc), but other than that, for now, we are done.

We will break for two weeks, and return to Damocles on Sunday 02 April 2023.

We will finish of any bookeeping in the OOC as per usual until then.

Act 2 and YOU.

Alright boys and girls:

  • XP

XP:

  • You all receive 350xp for your participation thus far. If this causes Rank Increase, you of course benefit from the +1 Wound as per the Special Campaign Rules.

As always at the end of every part, I invite feedback and comments.

Lovely stuff, Reynard will take:

1. an Intermediate +5 Ag for 250xp (now at a nice round Ag50, 'Magnificent' and 'as fast as an Eldar Corsair' according to the table on pg23! )

2. Silent Move for 100xp (ridiculous that it's only just become available at Rank 4, but it might be useful for sneaking around to see what Drexler is up to?)

In general:

Still really enjoying the story, and have especially enjoyed the most recent bit where we have got some clearer answers about what is happening.

Very much looking forward to the finale, though I still worry about going into the big fight with Reynard's miserably low T24.

(That was another reason for boosting his Ag, I did consider Dodge+10 to go with it, but figured that might be over-focusing on one area!)

Anyway, amazing job GM, really appreciate your hard work in keeping us all entertained!!!

Yes, a very enjoyable romp.

Will fret over XP expenditure this evening.

(Apart from trying to be the 40K version of the Lawgiver.)

How does the Fire Selector work?

Does it add three magazines to the firearm plus the magazine of the weapon or is it just three magazines total?

Hehehe! It'll be fine.

Yep.

See, now I think I should have gone for Dodge+10...

Spoiler

Realizing it's tricky for a Hive Scum to boost durability though, especially as I rolled 24. Even if I spend 500xp on a T increase, it won't make much difference as I'll only be T29 and therefore still TB2?

I'd have to spend a huge 1,250xp in total to get up to T34 and TB3... which just doesn't seem worth the bother - better to double down on the things he's good at? But it does mean 1 good hit and he's toast...

Well you could always try and applicate something which Mazer tried to pull in your Plunder game.

Unused XP Farming - Kill off the PC's that aren't being used at the moment (Stitches + Kelborn & Ancient Sobek's characters and harvest their XP) :whistling:

At the end of the day it's only a single point of damage. Where you do notice it with Scum is when you try to carry something like a heavy stubber and realise it's going to cost you 1000xp + to increase your carry capacity by just 9kg...
