Interceptor a Combat Air Patrol?

You're not the reacting player, so you can't perform reactions.

This is the answer. You are either the Active or Reactive Player. Only the Reactive Player can perform reactions so you can't ever use a reaction in your own turn. Page 156.

Do any of those advanced limitations say that the Active Player can trigger them?

No.

*Edit*

From your own images "Advanced Reactions use up a point of the Reactive Player's Reaction Allotment... etc." They are not available to the Active Player.

Some hilarious fodder for the original thread: if you can't react to a zooming flyer like trans and depth charge keep on trying to argue, then it would also disqualify combat air patrol from functioning against them.

You really think they made combat air patrol to functionally never be used?

i think it would be best if you quoted the relevant posts from this thread and posted it in your argument with trans and depth so you can discuss your points with them there, not here as its otherwise just derailing this fine (and pretty much done for) thread

Nah, the op decided to reference that argument in the first sentence and then tried to be snarky with the advanced reaction argument people used against him in the next one.

And the rules question basically doesn't even merit a thread to start with.

Yeah this is pretty cut and dry.

You can only use reactions when youre the Reactive Player. Combat Air Patrol is a reaction meaning the person who would want to intercept the Flyer that is brought onto the table via the reaction is not the Reactive Player but the Active Player. The Active Player cannot perform reactions.

Well in all honesty there is nothing about this advanced reaction, or in the sentences allowing it to kick off that uses any term such as move, moving etc.

Wow you guys are sensitive to 'snark' that doesn't exist, it was an acknowledgemetn of a previous discussion in another thread. For those unaware the intercepor argument was the use of 'the only reaction that can be declared against a unit moving on from reserve is interceptor' then the clash with no reactions can be made against moving flyers.

This one doesn't mention move in any area, weather that be the quantifying text for the advanced reaction.

But this is overall answered, weather one can react to a zooming flyer or not, you can't react to CAP due to not being able to react to a reaction. Which is hella rough for flyers depending on where the interceptor reaction lands. (Or any unit relying on an evade that enters play from reserve).
