These are some of the best Night Lords I've seen. Not going too wild with the gore/weathering but still grim :cuss:. I echo the other comments, how do you get those beautifull Lightingbolts?

OMG, these are amazing.

Truly inspiring work.

And I love your lighting effect! Did you glaze over it after painting?

Thank you! The lightning bolts are pretty simple. I found a brush with the sharpest tip, used a pretty thinned down mix of my lightest blue highlight color with white and tried to make as thin jagged lines as possible. Some of them might have needed 2 layers. I'll add a bit more white to the paint mix then fill in the thicker jagged cuts/corners in the bolts if that makes sense. I found going with thinned down paint and layering just helped with a more subtle effect.

ive always been of the opinion that a good NL, IW, WB force should be nigh on indistinguishable from 30k or 40k this is a GOOD NL army :D

I agree. It fits the fee of the Night Lords trilogy where they are more scavangers and raiders. Since hobby time is limited I also wanted to build something that I could use for 40k but also 30k if if I ever have time to start playing it as well.

Terror Master Semias Kyrek, headtaker of the Nostroman Death cult within the 56th Company.

This guy has been sitting unpainted for a while. So finally got around to finishing him so that I can take small break from my Night Lords to work on my backlog of guard. Hopefully I can get a few games in before 10th edition rolls around.

Amazing work @aznviking truly awesome and giving plenty of kitbashing thought! I'm currently working on NL, can I ask how you do your blue armour please?

Thank you. I prime the models black. Then use Scalecolor Abyssal Blue in the shadows and Cantabric Blue for the midtones. Ill add a bit of white or Hiril Blue to the Camtabric for highlights. The paints are pretty matt so I then give it as wash of Drakenhoff Nightshade to smooth our blends and add a bit more vibrance. If i feel like it, I'll then add some scratches with the Cantabric Blue and the highlights.

Hopefully that helps.

Thank you so much, very helpful indeed! (And personally helpful for me as I already own the paints you mention haha)

Some of the best looking Night Lords I've seen in a good little while. I really like the depth you manage to get to the blue despite how dark the colours are. They truly look striking and like they are in a little world of their own inside the confines of the base. The kitbashes make them unique and has them stadning out in the best of ways.

I wanted to add some anti-tank to my army but don't really enjoy painting vehicles, so I settled for the rapier laser destroyer. I swapped out the body of one of the crew members with a Tortuga bay mk2 body, so that the scale would fit better with my other models.

@aznviking Stunning yet again!

I forgot to ask when asking my previous question about the blues you use - how are you painting it? (Airbrush/drybrush/stippling etc)

@NinjaBadger7

Just brush layering and a bit of stippling on some areas. I havn't pulled the trigger on getting an airbrush just yet since I'm at a comfortable spot with my painting right now and don't want having to learn how to airbrush to disrupt my work flow. Maybe I'll get one once i get my hands on the new Nids.

This army has the makings to be one of the finest NL projects here on the board! The Terror Master, in particular, is such a spectacular centre piece! I envy you for managing to pull off that Unmade face mask look -- those heads somehow seemed way too small when I used them on one of my own Chaos Lords...

Thank you. Yes, the unmade heads are a bit on the smaller side. I found that grafting them onto space marine helmets helps with the fit. I don't know if that can help you, assuming you arent already doing that.

Superb kitbashes. You've got some really nice looking lightning bolts going on, too!
I really like the lore for your duellist who carries his own hands around with him. Gruesome. Which kit did his sword come from, by the way? I'm sure it's from an undead model, but I can't quite place it. It's a very good choice, the worn blade suits the ragged aesthetic of the warband.

@Urauloth Thank you. He was super fun to build. The sword is from the AoS Knight of shrouds model. Tons of Nightlord hobbyists have used the helmet and sword from that kit and for good reason.

It's been a while since I've added to this army, but I have been waiting for the new Chaos codex and the new Night Lords kill team for bits.

So here is 2nd Talon of the Midnight Court.
