SItnams Corsairs

I finally got around to painting my Nachmund Corsairs, alongside a Dire Avenger from the miniature of the month and some Drukhari henchmen that went LCTB.

 

I had had some issue with the White Scar spray on the corsairs, where much of the paint came out chalky and grainy. This was fortunately focused around legs, so it was a bit easier to hide with paint.

 

I dont have much in the way for a backstory for these guys. I am playing with the idea of them either being a rival mercenary warband to my Kroot, or as beign allied alognside the Kroot, often both serving under the same Ordo Xenos inquisitor

Thanks! I used these guys to testbed some of the new contrast paints, so that purple is actually Luxion, which really does pop

I like the color combination and echo TrawlingCleaner's comments about the purple really making the scheme pop. 

 

One suggestion: The green of the gemstones doesn't contrast much from the rest of the armor. Just giving an outline in a darker green might help.

 

I can't believe I missed out on the Sslyth model when it went LCTB. I had plans for one as a sanctioned xenos.

I might go back with Warpstone glow or Caliban green to see if I can try that suggestion.

 

The Sslyth and Medusa’s were total impulse buys when they went LCTB. I’m not a big Drukhari, but i love the various minor Xenos of the galaxy
