Sources of Fear

So I'm playing Alpha Legion and I'd like to mess around with a Pinning list that synergizes with a fear cluster to make the pinning checks at -1.

What are sources of fear?

I see the Herald pretty much as the only thing.  What else causes fear?

From the vanilla list? That's it. You need to get into specific legions to get any other sources of fear, though luckily you're doing alpha legion so it's a bit easier. Night lords with trophies and word bearers with corrupted are able to provide a lot of fear from an allied detachment for a heft investment; their special units that have it built in can be stolen if you want to save some points. Not the most familiar with loyalists, but I'm sure there's a couple of units tucked away.

 

You can also try and lean on night fight to give a -1 leadership, or use a vigilator for shell shock. The night can be risky since you need to invest in your army to get range, while also taking the ld and bs debuffs yourself.

From the loyalist side I believe Varagyr are the only unit that causes Fear natively.

 

Salamanders RoW Awakening Fire also gives access to Fear as an upgrade for infantry units, so a viable option as an allied detachment.
