I declare my april vow completed!!!!! Adapting the cadian arms to the dark elves was a headache. But I really like how it turned out, now I have to continue with another 24 cultists.

I've started the spiders but I fly off tomorrow so these will go on to next month.

It's been a bit of a struggle t get these over the line - they were almost finished at about the halfway point of the month, then slowed down so much that it's taken me six days just to find enough time to do the bases. But we got there in the end.

So... this wasn't my finest month.  Particularly when you consider what I was hoping.  But I always knew this would be a difficult month with the current qualification I am undertaking taking up much of my time, as well as a delayed Imperium delivery, then extra stuff and the stuff coming being stuff I really not going to enjoy painting (warriors again).  In saying that the Interdictors took to the field the first time the other day.  They lost, but it was damned close and came down to my Five Heavy Intercessors vs a Cannoness and a Hospitilar.  A fine trailing battle.  And Eradicators... damn.  Lost one to enemy fire then the remaining two managed to deliver 21 wounds in one round of shooting and kill an enemy Immolator.

 

Anyway, you came to see models.  As such I declare what I started for April complete (or as complete as it will be)

 

3x Bladeguard veterans

 

I love these guys but damn they became a chore painting at the end.  Didn't quite scrape the bases together but as I am back at the course for a week they will need to do.  Another part of my Plodding Along Vow done.  Mind you with the new edition and points changed etc I may need to change what I vowed.

 

And then a Tomb Spyder

Took me like a day or two to do this guy, I enjoyed it that much.  So much so here is an extra shot of the glowy runes on his back.

I even went to the effort of painting his butt bugs before assembly (Not that you can see it from the photos very well.)...

 

Anyway, so begins May.  Possibly a good month, probably not.  My wife is in for surgery so that will throw a spanner into things, and I am waiting to hear back if I need to do something similar.

 

Stay tuned for my what my next vow will be.  Likely bite the bullet and hit into those warriors.

My phone was on the very edge of dying so photo's are not great...

e.g. The recon marine looks like he has no colour on his eye lenses but they are actually noticeably red in rl. Will get better photos tomorrow... if I remember 

 

EDIT: Some new pictures (plus some old ones of the Recon marine pre-basing but identical other than that). I kept the black gloves that some of the guardsmen are un highlighted to fit with their armour but I think i'll change that for the future.

So I allowed myself to get distracted on my holidays by purchasing a Redemptor, Heavy Intercessors, Outiders, an ATV, and a BT Marshal for a DA conversion, INSTEAD of painting my AdMech as planned. I did however, paint 1/2 the Skitarii and 1/6 of the Kataphons, the remaining models are all at 50% or so and *should* be my focus for May, but we'll see.
