Yeah my buddy who gets the physical editions took three tries to get an intact copy of TE&D2, though GW to their credit kept sending them!

20 ish years of shopping and i have never had a reason to speak bad of GW customer service. Be it missing items, broken items, missing orders or damaged books.

They always just replaced/resent whatever was the issue.

Consider yourself lucky. I've received damaged books (manufacture defect, not shipping issues) plenty of times from GW and quite a few friends of mine have the same experience. If the item in question was LE, they never replaced it because it's sold out. Even if they still had copies in their physical stores at that time. They wouldn't ship it from there. Refund was the only offered solution. After escalation the cases, they offered vouchers but never sending a new copy.

Ah see i would be ok with that. They acknowledge they messed up, offer me my money back, and i get to keep a slight damaged LE? Win-win.

My issue there would be with the mail order department who sucks sucks sucks at packing, not customer services who are doing what they can and most companies would not ( probably blame the courier).

They don’t offer you all your money back, at least in my experience. They offer you a partial voucher for $30 or the opportunity to return the book for a full refund. It’s not unfair, but neither is it especially good customer service for what amounts to a defective product.

BL LEs are rarely damaged in shipping in my experience. Most of the time it’s because BL uses inferior printers for what is supposedly a premium product. Multiple copies of Echoes of Eternity, including mine, were sent out with unglued hinges, which is an almost comical example of incompetence on the part of the printer and BL’s quality control.

Read the Red Gobbo story. It's not very festive, which I appreciate. I don't think I particularly want a christmassy take on 40k. It's a decent story. Rhu's previous short stories are better.

Loved the story, it’s up there with Severed as far as hilarious xenos novels go, but I kept forgetting it was supposed to be set amidst falling snow. It’s no more Christmas-oriented than any other BL publication, which is probably for the best (looking at you, Star Wars Christmas Special).

Can’t wait to see more from James. One of many talented authors to debut this year.
