NKirkham24 Posted January 18, 2023 Share Posted January 18, 2023 I've recently painted Bayard's Revenge, which happened to be my first Templar (and first Ork coincidentally). I enjoyed the model, and have always liked the fluff and the army, so was thinking of pulling together a small 500 point list to join in any Boarding Action games that are going on near me, and if nothing else, for painting purposes. As this will be a small project and will be infantry based, I wanted some recommendations before I go shopping. I have 5 assault intercessors that I plan on using, and will be buying the upgrade kit. Aside from that, I'm open to ideas. I was thinking of Bladeguard, but I know them from my Ultramarines force. They obviously fit the aesthetic, but then you have Sword Brethren which I'm leaning to getting as it's something uniquely BT. Sword Brother Adelard Posted January 21, 2023 Share Posted January 21, 2023 I played my first game on Wednesday. (First game of 40k in a while actually, first since the supplement in fact.) I took what proved to be an illegal list of a terminator chaplain, 10 assault terminators (1LC Sword Brother and 9 TH/SS) and a Primaris apothecary. I lost, mainly due to the fact I had no troops and making objectives sticky is really useful when you have so few units to play with. Sword Brother Adelard Posted January 22, 2023 Share Posted January 22, 2023 List CP is irrelevant as you can't use strats, you start the game with one CP, and gain one every command phase. You only have access to three strats, a command re-roll, an Interrupt for 2CP and a 2CP auto pass morale strat you can only use once. So, BBF, you can't take Champion of the Feast in that list. I understand why it's in place, but I can't help but feel it gives an edge to some factions that have a deeper bench (to use the sports analogy) of elite choices.
