World Eaters 40k - Paint, and shade until it is done

Coming back to 40k after a long absence and could not have timed it better with World Eaters getting a stand alone codex.

Wanting to see how the red and bronze will look when the kits are out. I tested the scheme on Khârn.

Quite happy how he turned out. Currently working on the new Daemon Prince, will post progress soon once I get more layers on him.

Very Nice

If the rest of the army is at this standard then it's going to be one hell of a great army !!

If you don't mind, What was your recipe's for the Red and Bronze ??...

Cheers, M.

No worries dude.

For the red. Khorne Red Base. Wash with Agrax Earthshade. Go over the areas again with Khorne Red but leave the shade in the deeper recesses. Then highlight with Evil Sunz Scarlet but that's optional.

For the Bronze. Balthazar Gold base. Wash with Agrax Earthshade, Then Edge Highlight it with Liberator Gold. The scheme was something Duncan Rhodes posted on his YouTube and it came out pretty good.

Have started the Daemon Prince but waiting on paints to continue his skin. Tested a method for what I want for the wings. Looking for a bloody, raw flesh look to contrast on the Black skin for the guy.

This update was so good to build. Would like to get three others to make each aligned to the Gods.

So a good news, bad news situation.

Good news. Part of the order did arrive today so we are in build mode.

The bad news. It looks like the codex, and other parts of the release ran out of stock very quickly from the third party store I order from. Apparently there has been a issue with the stock they ordered from GW not arriving to fulfill all the orders. Thats not too bad a news as they got what they could out. Did want to read that codex though.

Building is done for what arrived.

The new Berzerker kit is awesome. Such a good update and they look very cool with Khârn in tow.

Invocatus kit was cool but very fiddly on the legs. A small part on the right hoof becomes very unstable if you are not careful.

I have built many rhinos over the years. But the Deimos has to be my favorite, it was really fun putting them and never thought I would say that again tbh.

Spent the afternoon testing the scheme on the Berzerker. For the test subject I will show the process on how I am getting the red and bronze on what I hope to replicate in a batch session.

From a Black Undercoat I went over all the armor with Khorne Red. All the banding was done with Balthazar Gold.

From here it is a straight wash of Agrax Earthshade over everything. Then going over the armor again with Khorne Red while leaving the shading in the deeper recesses.

Once dried, edge hightlight the banding with Liberator Gold. Then follow up with a edge highlight with Evil Sunz Scarlet on the armor in areas.

I am way happy how this has turned out and gonna work to get the rest of the squad up to this stage so I can finish up all the details. The new Zerkers are great fun to paint.
