joining the Waaagh

Im concidering to start my second 40k army. and as you might have guessed, i fell in love with the orks.

Im hooked on the goffs hord style playing of the game. and was concidering to go for something like this:

are this reasonoble lists to work towards?

I would like to play semi competitive. i do play tournaments but Im not expecting to win, but ofcourse doing my best and i do enjoy list building.

I don't know orks that well yet, so i would like some advice.

onpaper battlewagons loaded with boys seem pretty effecient for exemple, are they that great? and are killrigs even worth it?

what's the better deal boys or beast snaggaboys?

 

and are they easy to convert from one another? I'm a bit on a budget and could buy a lot of secondhand boys.

could i turn them also into kommandos and stormboys for exemple? or are they really different models?

Im playing space wolves at the moment. So im comfortable with the melee phase and really enjoy it, but also look forward to add some dakka and roll buckets of dice.

 

as i see it now I would go for green tide, banners and maybe stomp m good, depending on the matchup ofcours.

 

maybe more gretchin seem like a good plan to have some flexibility with secondarys.

 

any advice on battlewagon vs killrig and boys vs beast snagga boys?

As secondaries go - get the good bits is an easy 15pts if you build the list into it. Min 2 gretchin to do the action and at least one other unit like commando’s that could do it if turn 1.

If I was to start again I would buy beastnagger boys to go in the killrigs. Boys are cheaper so you may want lots of them to help with green tide. 
 

I have found Gaz can be really great but also he can easily be dropped - I was playing last night and he died T2 before I could Wagh - this was against demons (who used shooting, physic and melee to chip through his 4 wound bracket). I’m changing my future lists to drop Gaz.

Does the custom force field give a 5++? I only thought a 6. But that seems like a nice trick.

do you rol gaz in a battlewagon?

I have rolled him in it in the past but prefer now to stuff it with 18 Boyz with the truck boy ability so I can alpha strike turn 1.

This is my current list, it’s not super competitive with the Morkanaut but it’s fun and does quite well most of the time.

I put the Morkanaut into deep strike with the strat teleportation so T2 I bring it as close to behind the enemy deployment as possible and then charge it into their deployment (I pick the secondary behind enemy lines for this, T3 the three mega nobs get out to help with behind enemy lines.

it’s a strat for 2CP and the field blows up after also extends the range to 9inch bubble. I do this Turn 1 if the shooting is going to be bad and keep my army close or hidden, then Wagh  T2 for the 5+ from that when the Morkanort walks in.

It was a good deal, but doesn’t all fit in my list. So I want to sell some stuff again to save some money for more battlewagons, komandos, stormboys and gretchin.

 

but what to sell?

i thought at least to sell 30 boys. The scrapjet and wartrike, because they don’t really fit in my list. Or are they really good? I don’t want to sell stuff so i have to buy it later again (but im on kind of a budget).

also im not sure if I should keep the lootas, flashgitz and killakans? 
what would you recommend?
