New minis are really nice! I hope the new Sternguard don't replace the old ones though, they are excellent models. Now, the great question is what bloody chapter do I paint these as???

Count down to someone replacing the Apothecary Biologis's cannister with a beer keg. Really like that the new Sternguad Veterans have the same style tabard/cloth thing as Bladeguard with it going under the breast plate but covering the middle and extending under the belt, loved it on the Bladeguard and glad to see it again. 

Love the new Dread, one of my first minis was the metal Dark Angels dread that came with twin Las and missile launcher so it's always nice seeing that configuration on dreads.

Very much looking forward to this box, both sides look great.

Confirmation that Dark Angels is a standalone Codex should settle a few nerves regarding faction rules/identity!

Surprisingly, finding myself a lot more interested in the veterans now than I though I'd be. The flappy bits will fit perfectly in with my Templar. Can just slap capes on them and they're essentially ranged swordbrethren.

 

Dread feels... a bit top heavy?

The Dread legs looks... off. I don't know if it's just the pose with the stupid tactical rock (which dreads don't need) or what.

Interestingly the Dark Angels isn't called Codex Supplement so we may go back to full codexes at least for the three big chapters?

Interesting roadmap; 4 xenos, 2 space marine, 2 imperium, 1 chaos.

Does the roadmap indicate new minis - do any of those factions particularly need a refresh or just a touch up?

Would really hope it just won't be the big 3.

 

It'd be pretty ridicilous to again take away our (BT) supplement/codex after less than 2 years when we finally got it back after going some 4 editions without one.

What I meant is that DA/BA/SW might get full codexes while the other chapters and BT get supplements

I think because they have outright replaced the old Sternguard with Primaris versions, we can realistically expect the same to happen with the Vanguard?

With the number of exclusive models BT have I would find it hard to believe they'd lose their codex at this point.
