Agreed but you never know what the developers were thinking, that was the only thing I can think of that makes sense as to the slight downgrade.

And presumably the multipart Lieatenant from Strike Force Agastus will get an individual release or boxed into a new set. Nothing about him really spells the difference between Lieutenant and Captain.

Shoulder pad with a golden eagle swapped for the standard Lt skull and Halo will do it.

Given that he dropped a wound, im almost surprised they called him primaris still. Equalizing the wounds between him and the classic version seems like a first step to equalizing the classic marine sheet with the primaris one, like with sternguard.

Was it limited release? It's still on the GW site as temporarily out of stock. Not sure if that means it's coming back or not but usually once a limited model is sold out it says no longer available, not temporary.

Edit: Also Dark Angels have the Lazarus kit that can build them a standard captain and comes with the power fist as well.

I'm guessing he has the Primaris keyword because the name of his data sheet is Primaris Captain. Doubt it's anything more than that.

That's a different model - the Messinius character (which has some chapter-specific White Consuls icons sculpted on the model). The generic Power Fist Captain was a limited edition store anniversary model (though as stated, there will be a new one in the upcoming blind box set).

Well I'll be damned, didn't know about that other limited edition captain. That said Messinius' shoulder pad seems to come separate, you could easily replace that with any primaris shoulder and then choose to file off the consul logo on his knee pad or even just leave it be, not like an imperial eagle isn't a common Marine symbol anyway.

It could be fake. Data sheets now have Primaris power armor variant keyword > Phobos, Tacticus and Gravis. These are more granular and represent Primaris SM.

Interestingly only the 3 flavours of intercessor are listed under battle line on gw site, not tacticals.

Lots of kits lack assigned roles on the store; Ahriman for instance doesn't appear when selecting for character, angeon iirc doesn't appear under fly, and probably lots more I can't recall right now.

He can but captain's typically have the chest ropes not always but all of them have an embosssed eagle shoulder pad like I said before a shoulder pad swap is bare minimum conversion. I'd prolly keep the relic blade though unless your goal is to punch out Carnifexes.

Forgive me if this is a little "the sky is falling but I noticed something.

 

On the GW Aus site, only Intercessors (Regular, Assault and Heavy) are listed under the filter "Battleline". Not Tactical or Assault Squads.

 

In the Tyranid Index cards, Warriors do not have the Battleline keyword.

 

Could this mean that you cannot use Firstborn for minimum Battleline units? Or that there may be a hard limit on them?
