Im more curious specifically about the functionality of the squadron keyword. In the past, it allowed them to deploy together and afterward be treated as separate units.

The Avatar looks solid. Pretty similar to his 9th ed profile. 1 less attack but he does not degrade until he gets down to 5 wounds.

Why is he tougher to kill than a GUO or Morty?  Why is he killier?  Points matter but I can't imagine they'll make him more expensive than Morty.

Someone on discord is saying during the stream it was mentioned that 95% of wargear is free. Dunno if that means game wide, for eldar, or if it’s true at all. Can anyone verify? I skipped the stream.

Still depends are they cheaper relative to every other faction. Votann are expecting points drops- armies might generally be getting bigger again.

Calm down guys, historically speaking, Eldar have never had broken units or combos. I’m sure having powerful attacks on top of the ability to sub in preset values for rolls will be just fine. After all, they can’t sub in *every* roll that they make, which means it’s balanced.

IDK why people are concerned about Eldar D-Weapons now when, during 6th and 7th, they were arguably more powerful by being Strength: D when that was a thing and you still didnt really see them flood the board with such weapons en-masse.

Well, 10th is the soon-to-be current edition of the game, would be my reason. Really, in the end I only minimally want to complain vs. point out some of these really strong options.

Who else suspects that GW want to increase Eldar sales  Though I wonder, where do Eldar sit in a global sales ranking of 40k. While obviously Space Marines would be top (and ive heard Sisters are also quite popluar) where does everyone else sit?

Votann players are expecting points drops because Votann got absolutely rekt by the 10th edition balance pass.

 

If Eldar are sitting at 2300 "9th Ed" points with these rules, I must be looking at 3000 points for my Votann.

The Daemon one is about 2200 in 9th money too, one of the DG is 2100. Points have changed, we have no idea to what yet.

These datasheets are undoubtedly strong, their points will make a huge difference

If GW made rules to increase sales for factions, FW models wouldn't be going to Legends

If GW want to increase Eldar sales, then they could release the rest of the aspects in plastic

Ha, just been doing a quick points costing myself and came to roughly this points costing. So it looks like no points creep but points reduction.

I'm pretty sure its always been reduction, at least since I started playing in 5th. That way you can buy more models

Pretty much what happened to WFB in my understanding, points costs were lowered so you had to buy more for the same pts level games.

BS4+ offsets the damage output but that's still a lot!

My years of playing Iyanden have been rewarded! Losing -1 Damage is pretty well offset by T7 and a 2+ save.

Is it not strange that the number of fate die doesn't scale with the points value of the game? Like 12 at 3k is 1/3 as useful as 12 at 1k for the most part, whereas other factions' abilities scale with army size. 

 

Is this bad design or am I missing something?
