TheMawr
Why does everyone always forget to mention Grey knights in these lists ? Now I feel obliged to mention them again and I dont even like the concept/execution of them Next time its someone else's turn :p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/378783-kits-in-direst-need-of-replacementupdates/page/5/#findComment-6142414 Share on other sites
TheMawr
Fine cast is almost gone in 40k though, either by exiting the offending dstasheets or updates. From memory all that's left is basically 9 kits : - ork weirdboy - tau sniper drone handler - inquisitor - Sly malbo - Pedro Kantor - Ezekiel & Sammael - the deceiver shard & lokhust destroyer lord Lathe Biosas 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/378783-kits-in-direst-need-of-replacementupdates/page/5/#findComment-6142416 Share on other sites

Felix Antipodes
Not just Catachans. The entire Guard range (bar Krieg & Cadians) need a serious look at from the design team imho. A new Pedro Kantor is also needed (by me, anyway ). Jscarlos18
Grey Knights just need their height changed to be more in line with the modern Terminator sculpt. Guard getting more regiments up to date would be neat. Karhedron
Don't forget Karandras. The Phoenix Lord so stealthy that he hid from the 10th edition refresh! I was hoping he would turn up as on of the hero releases for the end of edition campaign but no sign of him so far. marspeople
Its kinda crazy that the Destroyers and Destroyer Lord have still not been updated. Fun fact: the Tau tanks are some of the few remaining non-digitally sculpted plastic kits still in production. A White Dwarf article from 2001, when the release happened, shows how they were manually sculpted and then rescaled with a pantograph. It would be great to see Lokhust show up, if they don't arrive with a Destroyer-led campaign entry I'll be curious to see where GW thinks that release should go. There's a tin-foil hat wearing part of me that thinks community designers were a little too close to what GW had planned for the last green-rod using models in the line. There was a few -really good- Destroyer and Lord proxies made using the updated Heavy design when it was released. My hilariously untrue thought is that GW was too embarrassed to release what they designed and have had to push the release back due to IP-protectable redesign. V of course but as we're talking Horus Heresy it'd likely be the Mk. IV), and unless you either sell a kidney or visit Forge World Russia they're basically unobtainable. I just hope that they do something exciting with it. They could release a Landraider the size of the 30k Spartan and make it into a real monster on the tabletop. Give it Quad Las Cannons or Laser Destroyers, or they could re-invent it into a Grav Raider. Both of these versions could keep the iconic look and profile A safe refresh of the old one that is identical in function but just looks a bit sharper would be disappointing. Robbienw
They'll never make it Grav only, the standard one is too iconic in a similar way to terminators. I could see a grav variant at some point in the future in 40k or 30k though, there were some grav versions in 30k although they were rare. I would expect in to be a bit bigger yeah. They should do loads of weapon options for it, probably across a couple of boxes, to cover standard, crusader, redeemer, helios and excelsior.
