Call to Arms 2023 Xenos Stronghold Summary

First of all, thank you to everyone who participated in our first ever Call to Arms, whether or not you completed your Vows, you have all made the event the success it has been. Should enough of you clamour for more we may very well have this event return annually.

Ok, so how did the Xenos Forums and Stronghold perform throughout the Event?

Aeldari - Participants vs. Completed: 3/6, Pledged: 640pts / Complete: 493pts / Secured: 493/640pts (77%)

The Aeldari forum featured three very dedicated Participants, with just three members securing almost 500pts, which is almost as much as the 20 participants from the Adeptus Astartes Imperium Forum, no small feat. With the most completed points within the Xenos Stronghold, those Participants who completed their Aeldari Vows have earned the Champions of the Horde badge to display in their signatures.

Drukhari - Participants vs. Completed: 1/1, Pledged:  30pts / Complete: 30pts / Secured: 30/30pts (100%)

All it takes is one. With just one Participant who completed all of their pledged points, the Drukhari have attained the elusive 100% Completion Rate, and with that, @tinpact has claimed the Champions of the Call badge.

Genestealer Cults - Participants vs. Completed: 1/2, Pledged:  52pts / Complete:   12pts / Secured: 12/52pts (23%)

As with many of the smaller Forums, Genestealer Cults were hampered by low Participation, and even lower Completion rates. A recruitment drive for the Four-Armed Emperor is required.

Leagues of Votann - Participants vs. Completed: 3/5, Pledged:  134pts / Complete:  83pts / Secured: 83/134pts (53%)

As a relatively new Faction the the setting and Forums, the Legues of Votann also suffered from low Participation and Completions rates. Hopefully future events will see the player base, and forum participation expand.

Necrons - Participants vs. Completed: 3/4, Pledged: 186pts / Complete:  85pts / Secured: 85/186pts (45%)

Unfortunetly, the Necrons lost out on their largest points vow, but the greatest missed opportunity for the Dynasties was follow-up vows, with all three Partipants who completed their vows failing to make a second or subsequent vow. A few more Participants wouldn't have hurt either.

Orks - Participants vs. Completed: 4/7, Pledged: 288pts / Complete:  209pts / Secured: 209/288pts (72%)

The Orks had a decent level of Participation, and an acceptable Completion rate, but like some of the other Forums, missed an opportunity to add on further vows from the Participants who completed their initial pledges.

T'au Empire - Participants vs. Completed: 0/2 Pledged:  99pts / Complete: 0pts / Secured: 0pts (0%)

Unfortunetly both Participants pledging for the Tau failed their vows, and as such the Tau have claimed no points in the first Call to Arms.

Tyranids - Participants vs. Completed: 6/9 Pledged: 535pts / Complete:   211pts / Secured: 211/535pts (39%)

Similarly to the Necrons, the Tyranids missed out on some of their largest vows, whilst largely not making any subsequent vows. With a few more Completions, and some additional vows, the Tyranids could have Challenged the Aeldari for Champions of the Horde, which would have been a fitting award.

As with most Events, there are of course Badges for Individual Achievments within the Stronghold,

Starting with those who did not Complete their Vows, the Xenocide Badge, these Participants are honour-bound to bear this Badge until years end.

The Moderators and Administratum were faced with the very difficult task of selecting three Artificers from each Stronghold, just three entries each from the many, many excellent models submitted within each Stronghold for the Call to Arms. These three Artificers will face off against one another in a Public Poll to claim the Stronghold Artifcer Badge, AND a physical prize. Next, the three Stronghold Artificer's from the Imperium, Chaos, and Xenos Strongholds will face off in one last Public Poll to claim the Master Artificer Badge.

Congratulations to @andes, @Azaiel, and @Chaplain Raeven for their fantastic entries, earning themselves the Artificer Badge, and a shot at being the Call to Arms 2023 Master Artificer.  @Triszin has also earned the Xenos Artificer badge, but will be excluded from the Poll (be a bit silly to award themself a prize now wouldn't it?).

Please take a moment to look at all three polls and cast your votes,

IMPERIUM  |  CHAOS  |  XENOS

Now, you may have noticed the overall Stronghold participants, and points completed are missing, they will feature in one last Summary where the Strongholds results verses each other will be discussed, and prizes announced ans so on. Artificer Polls will be open for  a week or so, and then we'll talk Strongholds.

Totally agree with the preceding post, this was great fun @Grotsmasha - thank you to you and everyone involved. I would have loved to have painted more but fear of failure put me off! If I had chosen something else, I might have finished more - but then it might not have been Orks!

Fantastic work in the Artificer challenges too!

Big thanks to @Grotsmasha and @Triszin for putting this event on but also a big thanks and well done to all those who participated!

These events are always great motivators for me!

I agree with all the previous lads, it was great fun! I had hoped to paint up more than my box of Space Hulk, since I had a Knight Castigator and some Night Lords ready to go, but time ran out. This event was a great motivator for my 'Stealers though, they've been waiting almost a decade for some colour. Thank you for the Artificer-badge, it's an honour I did not expect!

The best bit is, just as I was completing my vow, our local Warhammer Store started its Crusade Campaign, so I could use my minis right away.  Really appreciate this event, thanks everyone, good times.

Edit - hehe, messed up the screenshot, sry

Epic heroes of the Xenos! Great work you three - as for those who failed, attach the stone [badge] of shame and finish your vows regardless!

those are some violently coloured nids, love it!

Well done everyone and especially my Xenos buddies!

Loads of eye candy and inspiration!

Hats off to Grotsmasha and Triszin for organizing the event. I do not envy the task of tallying everything up and compiling it!

Humble reminder - in doing the Call To Arms, I also completed that Battle Honours homework book at Warhammer Stores that give you free swag.

Yes, at times, I prayed to the Omnissiah for the strength to go on, ask and ye shall receive...receive free swag!  This is separate from your vows, you largely had to have just done 1 character, 1 unit of Infantry and a Vehicle or Monster to have qualified.  Apparently you don't even need to have completed your painting.

I'm trying to add the badge to my signature, but keep getting told that it's too big (exceeding the x100 pixel limit, apparently). Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

A few people have had this issue, but most have had it work if they alt-click on the image and copy / paste it directly into their sig. (not sure of the root cause, but the images are definietly 100x100).

Thanks. That's what I was doing - the image gets added as an attachment anyway, and then can't be saved (because size).

I'll try it again, see if the laptop was having a bad day.

Edit to add:

Hmm. Still not working, still thinks the image is too large. I tried adding one of the Hobby Challenge badges, and that worked fine; then I tried the Completed badge from the Xenos forum, and that won't save either (too big again).

It's not a big issue, so don't worry about it.

Edited by Rogue

@Rogue I've had the same problem. I've found that if you click on the image and then click copy link and paste it into your sig it should work.

Thank you to @Grotsmasha and @Triszin for running this spectacular event. Lots of ETL vibes!
