Awesome work here , agreed the Nids on swampy bases blend well (in a good way) I always thought/had the idea That Nids would be a little reactive/adaptable to their present environment as a Survival mechanism, especially when they're spawning on a New planet I feel the hive mind would programme some parameters in to help with camouflage etc..

Love the green  and love the Psychophage (sp?)  hey are you going to use this base scheme on your T'AU too

Cheers, M

Thanks @MithrilForge!

I’m going to mix it up a bit with the basing for my T’au. So the basing will be different, I want to use snow this time!

That’s right …like Duh  Urban T’AU in the snow… I think I missed it in the title

cheers, M

Thanks @The Praetorian of Inwit!

I always tend to use a muted and limited palette on all my projects. It’s just the way I like it!

I use a mix of GW and Vallejo paints, the main colour is “WW2 German Field Grey” I use it somewhere on every force I build!

Thanks for the interest!

Thought I’d share some pics of my latest Nid progress.

I absolutely love these sculpts, they just ooze alien menace!

My Neurotyrant will be leading this Brood (so cool they can do that!)

Next up for my Tyranids I will be keeping  with the brain bug theme and it’ll be a Norn Emissary!

Until then, thank you for looking!

@The Pounder- as stated elsewhere, great work and great colour choices, they work well all together , I think 2/3 of the battle to paint our models is settling on a good scheme that we like and looks good  you’ve certainly done it here!.

cheers, Mithril

Thanks @MithrilForge!

You’re completely right, finding a scheme you’re happy with and can replicate throughout the horde really helps!

I’m really excited to work on the Norn Emissary but have to complete my Call to Arms vows first.

Thanks for the interest and likes gents, much appreciated.

I'll be honest, at first I didn't think I would like the black or the dark colors. (I am a bright colored type of person) but the dark colors really let every other color on the model pop and that really works out well. they all look awesome. really well done, I bet as a complete force they look awesome on the table

Thanks @Pearson73! I really need to get s’more Gaunts!

@INKS thanks for your honest critique! I always tend to use a muted palette, I was trying to make them look “natural”

Glad you liked the scheme!

I’m nearly there with my 1250pts list (just need the Norn Emissary) then I’ll post a pic of the Swarm once it’s all painted.

Well, it’s been ages since I had an update for my Nids. Time to put that right!

I’ve finished my Norn Emissary.

I was at first a little disappointed with the size at first but once it was done and mounted on the base I thought it was a little more imposing.

The kit was a joy to build and paint and I’m very happy with the results.

Here’s the pics:

@The Pounder - Like wowzers  ,I can only give it one emoji reaction instead of many, this is great, I don't know why but I'm getting really "Old Skool Cool" vibes from this beastie and I love it !!

You did great ,Kudo's on the Colour choice and arrangement. It's perfect (My only thought is and it's not a critique but an actual thought bubble of  "I wonder what she'd look like with shiny black skin"  )

Anyways, Great work bud.

Cheers, Mithril

Cheers!

She was such a fun model to work on.

I think shiny black skin would’ve been epic! Wish I’d thought of that!

I wanted a more natural aesthetic rather than vibrant, so I went with insect type colours.

Thanks again for the interest.

Brilliant work, the painting across the whole piece looks really consistent, which I always feel must be a challenge on so big a model? I've said it before, but I do really dig the stripey highlights, they look so striking!
