Marshal Reinhard Posted August 11, 2023 Share Posted August 11, 2023 Black Templars do not have fixed companies like other chapters. Depending on how large a given crusade it might be organized into several Fighting Companies, each lead by a castellan. They vary in size and number based on the size of the crusade. The Marshal's household is essentially the Marshal's own "Fighting Company", and has been said, is made up by the marshals advisor, the swordbrethren and such. If fighting companies are temporary battle companies for the black templars, the marshals household is a temporary first company. It's where our "first company veterans", aka the sword brethren go. If you have the 4th edition codex on hand, look at the very end of it. You can see the make up a very large crusade (was it the armageddon crusade? Been so long, I dont have the book on hand). It gives a very good idea how a large templar crusade is organized. It had the only chaplains and EC in that crusade.
