Plaguecasters Nurgle Daemons, belakor and knights 18/01/25

Got the Desecrator all painted up ready to use in games. 

With one desecrator and 2 wardogs I can basically play chaos knights now, may try out playing chaos knights with some daemons allies for a change of pace

Don't actually know will find out pretty sure may be similar height just a bit shorter part of why used lots of horns to add height 

If too short will pack the base up or put a big banner on the top

Not much of an update but am slowly rebasing my daemons to match Bel and the knights as planning on doing a tournament with my nurgle daemons, belakor and desecrator in march 

Also have another beast of nurgle to assemble as well as one of those nurgle trees I've wanted to paint for a while

Double post but got the Feculent Gnarlmaw all painted 

Really like the model just wish they had better rules or at least were far cheaper as 100pts for something that can't move but gives stealth kinda sucks 

May grab another few just to use as terrain pieced

Looks nice - really fits in with your other models

 

That's how I feel about the Noctolith Crown as well - looks nice, but too many points to put it on the table as anything but terrain.

Got another beast of Nurgle all assembled and painted as well as rebasing most of my daemons

 

I also have a 2k tournament this weekend on Sunday which should prove a lot of interesting fun 

Taking Bel, rotigus, GUO and the big knight with lots of other nurgle daemons, don't know if it'll do well but seems like it'll be fun to play at least 

This is what I'm taking 

Belakor

GUO with Endless gift enhancement 

Rotigus

2x 6 nurgling swarms

2x 10 plaguebearers 

2x 3 plague drones

3x Beasts of Nurgle all seperate units 

Chaos desecrator knight with warpstrike claw

Lists were already submitted before the new balance update so won't be using the new rules which is good as this army is now over 2k by 75pts

Will update how I went once it's over

Interested as well on hearing how it goes.  Is this tournament under the most recent changes to the Index?  If so, did they change anything for your army?

No it didn't use the recent update due to lists all being submitted few days before and TO agreed would be unfair to change so suddenly which was good as my list wouldn't be legal as with changes is now over 75pts 

 

So had my tournament which was a day event with 3 games played over the day ended up going 1/3  winning against necrons but losing to both Knights and Tau

 

First game was against Knights which lost 37-100 it was like my dice were cursed as just couldn't pass any of my saves Rotigus just died in one turn of shooting not even passing a single save belakor managed to take out 2 small knights by himself but failed charge against rex dying in return, my knight killed one small knight and didn't do much else as my opponent just passed so much inv saves when shooting against him and then my great unclean ones with some beasts just slowly dragged his Atropas knight down before I got tabled by his rest, my secondaries were pretty bad and just struggled to score anything decent 

 

2nd game was against Tau retaliation cadre which I also lost as my luck was even worse as just couldn't make my charge rolls failed so much 6in charges even with reroll it wasn't funny leading to most of my stuff just dying also didn't help opponent managed to roll 6s for every damage roll especially the hammerhead who just managed to destroy so much, Rotigus did however go out in a blaze of glory somehow managing to pass most of his saves to murder a riptide quite a few suits the hammerhead and 2 commanders before blowing up dealing 21 wounds to all the units around

Last game of the day was against necrons and did far better with my rolls being a better average winning 100-47 against Awakened dynasty 

Played really aggressively charging my stuff right in his face so had all my big daemons right in middle forcing him to split his fire. Rotigus and GUO managed to tank alot of hits both managing to survive the whole game likewise with Belakor who epic challenged both wraith squads eliminating the character that gave them feel no pain and helped to wipe them completely. Managed to achieve max secondaries with drones, beasts and plaguebearers scoring easily whilst my big stuff just proved to be a major nuisance to him 

 

Overall was a very fun and interesting day even with bad dice rolls

The knight didn't really do much but was pretty cool to have, can't use this same list due to the price update but may try same but with wardogs instead or try without belakor with another GUO, fact they are T13 with Str10 is amazing and would of helped quite a lot in games especially against knights 

 

Once Deathguard get their codex and a daemon detachment like Emperors children where you can take 1000pts daemons I may try running a mixed force of Nurgle daemons with heaps of deathguard daemon engines, being able to take Blight haulers and Drones with multiple GUOs seems like it'll be great

Thanks for sharing your experiences and the photos - and yeah, sometimes the dice are out to get you.  Glad to hear you were able to power through that and still enjoy the event.

Always nice to see a bunch of nicely painted models facing off against each other - in particular, that knight army and yours look great together, your paint styles and colours are very different but actually quite complimentary.
