blacksnapt
Hi all ive got a friendly little narrative campaign coming up with my local gaming group, now its suppose to be fluffy 'friendly' lists, but we just heard that out local chaos knights player was going to participe aswell, and is going to bring 6-7 wardogs as his 1k pts list... Now ive never played against chaos knights but when i look AT their profile looks like its gonna be a rough tough nut to crack... Im honestly a bit lost as to what to bring to the match up... As i dont want to list tailor but still want to have a chance against everything... Imperium - SoB - Custodes - BA - Ultra Marines Chaos : - DG - WE - Chaos Knight Xenos : 1/2 T'au Necron Thats what everyone is bringing the only real list im kinda worried about is the chaos knights just because ive never played them... Helycon
If he's bringing mainly wardogs, you might be OK, as it's the toughness of the knights that pushes them over the top for most armies. It's not going to change much for Custodes, as you'll wound on 5's with your melee most of the time against both Wardogs and big Knights. They are a lot more mobile though, so going for objectives is going to be a bit more challenging. That said, Knights are tough to balance due to their toughness and wounds. They are either too hard to kill, or die too easily. His edition, they fall into the former, which eaves you to try and engage them on your terms and having to play the strategy game. Get into melee as soon as you can (Blade Champions are good anyway) and use your stances to your advantage. I reckon Custodes have the best chance die to their survivability and relatively high strength, so now em down
blacksnapt
Yeah thats what i was thinking get to where i Can hurt them, meaning combat, and smash them to the ground, im thinking of bringing 3 allarus termies along too with an allarus Shield captain, a blade champion w/ 4-5 custodian guards, im thinking about an eversor Assassin, for some board control and objective snatching, and After that im kinda stalling on what to add... Any help is very welcome... These are the armies being played Imperium Custodes (me) SoB Blood Angels Ultra marines * Xenos forces are Orks * 2 Tau Necrons Chaos forces are Death guard World eaters Chaos knights * the player is still deciding between orks and marines I want a list that has a chance against it all and not one that stomps some and not others...
