WAdams2152
Back at 40K after 15 years away from GW. Done a little painting in between, but nothing on this scale. Wormwoods
Looks solid! The skin/chitin came our well, and I really like the highlighting you've done on those leg-plates. I've seen a few Screamer-killers with the seam exposed on the right leg, is the kit fiddly there? I know these monopose Leviathan models are a little weird in places. WAdams2152
Yep doing them all - I’ve actually got a double set of them. I really like the new termagants models, I think they looks really good. Regarding the leg, I really should’ve green-stuffed it, I’ll have a look at the pin length when I build the next one and let you know… Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380644-first-go-at-painting/#findComment-5991076 Share on other sites
WAdams2152
I wasn’t really sure what do with the claws/blades on the ends of the arms. I didn’t want them to draw away from the central focal points, but think they end up looking a bit bland and unpainted… Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380644-first-go-at-painting/#findComment-5991077 Share on other sites
The Pounder
Great work for your first stab at it! I do all my “blades” in bone and don’t think it detracts from the rest of the model. Looking forward to seeing what you do next! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380644-first-go-at-painting/#findComment-5992354 Share on other sites
Xenith
Great for a first model back, looks really good. My ony comment would be that the basing is a similar colour to the model so it kind of blends in and might stop other models from 'popping'. This is an issue with other armies, but nids can look great tied more into the bases, so this is down to personal taste. Looking forward to seeing the rest! WAdams2152
Yeah I agree about my bases. Might look into some other options… Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380644-first-go-at-painting/#findComment-5993179 Share on other sites
WAdams2152
Went and added some more dark green to the base mix to give more contrast. I was hoping for a more urban mix but my hobby shop had sold out, but it still gives a better contrast to the flesh colours. Almost finished my first unit of ‘gaunts so will post how they come out… Isual and Brother Nathan 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380644-first-go-at-painting/#findComment-5993428 Share on other sites
