Detachment speculation

I doubt that we'll see it so specifically tied to regiments. I could see, however, it tied to fighting types.

Deathworlders - Close-ranged warfare

Siege Specialists - Cover and artillery

Shock Troopers - Mobile Infantry (I really want this to just be the opposite of Combined Regiments, i.e. you get Lethal Hits but only if you move)

Tempestus Stormtroopers - Stormtroopers

Obviously they won’t be named after regiments but it’s easier to label them as such for this discussion

I expect detachments built around:

Combined Arms, more or less unchanged

Mechanised infantry

Something focused on veteran/elite units

Armoured units

Artillery 

Infantry hordes

 

I would also love a detachment focusing on abhumans. Also wouldn't be surprised if one was focused on assault troops, with close combat buffs.

I would very much appreciate if they did something for guard like they did for 30k Imperial militia. Options for large squads of cc guardsmen, so we can drown our enemies in poor quality cc and corpse. Extra points if they give a stratagem that allows artillery to hit units locked in combat, with a chance to blast our own people.

I went back and re-read those on a certain wiki site.  Pretty much all of them can be used with the units in the index.

 

The infantry company could be good for lots of infantry, chimera and sentinels.  Then there's the tank company :wub::wub::wub:

 

The Arty company is essentially what we have now.

 

The mechanized could be updated where a unit counts as *not* having moved after disembarking...

 

Most of the strats & enhancements need a little tweak, but basically work and are still cool
