RWJP Posted October 7, 2023 Share Posted October 7, 2023 Hi all, Not 100% certain if this is technically the right place to post, but though if anyone would be able to answer, it would be people here! Has anyone here had any experience of using The Colour Forge Republic Blue for Ultramarines and how it compares to Macragge Blue? I've looked around online and none of the reviews of the Colour Forge sprays show off the damn blue! I'd love to see some side by side comparisons. Casual Heresy Posted October 8, 2023 Share Posted October 8, 2023 I can't speak from experience with Republic Blue, but the colour match to GW paints on Colour Forge sprays is very good. I use their tempest blue spray to basecoat my Ultramarine vehicles before drybrushing up to Macragge Blue to get some shading on them. That spray is a perfect match to Kantor Blue. Tacitus Posted October 9, 2023 Share Posted October 9, 2023 I've never used Color forge, I airbursh with Vallejo Ultramarine Blue and love it. The other half of the question is: Which Ultramarine/Macragge Blue? The contrast paint doesn't match anything "Ultramarines" to me - it looks more like the Crimson Fist/Kantor Blue.
