Naming of Crusades?

What can Crusades be named after?

 

Location where it takes place, I know that one. 

 

What about the name of the Marshal leading it, or the intended goal or purpose of the crusade?

Name of location is by far the most common. Given that it's a large galaxy, there's no end of possible locations, made up or otherwise.

 

Even if you do a goal, typical names still include a location "Purging of Lastrati" I seem to recall.

 

Ultimately there's nothing preventing you from naming it whatever, but I personally would avoid naming it after the marshal, unless you feel he's a particular glory hound. Just me though.

If I were leading a crusade and completed it, say to exterminate a particular race of xenos, then moved on to a new crusade I would make my life simple and name them Crusade 1, Crusade 2, Crusade 3, etc...
