Greetings Brothers,

I have a Necron Incursion to defeat.

Scout reports indicate the Necrons are fielding a large 10-20 troop blob on foot with several re-animation enhancing leaders.

There is at least one vehicle destroying unit  and scary melee unit.

Scarab units in abundance.

The Necrons seem to have mainly short to medium ranged firepower.

I am looking at running.

Phobos Captain

Incursor x5

Incursor x5

Assault intercessors with jump packs x5

Eliminator squad las fusil x2

Hellblaster squad x5

Inceptors, assault bolters x3

Invictor Tactical Warsuit, incendium cannon x1

Redemptor Dread x1

I have considered dropping/adding an Incursor squad/Invictor adding Eradicators, a Whirlwind, JP Death Company or even throwing a Vindicator in.

Ive a pretty good collection of BA and can run pretty much any models.

Probably running Gladius but open to suggestions here.

Battle report to follow hopefully

I ran the list yesterday, very simple game 5 objectives and points for holding them and destroying your opponents units.

A narrow loss 19-18  to the Necrons.

I proxied the Sang Guard in for Jump Pack Assault Intercessors

Takeaways

The Redemptor is an auto include so strong and so useful

A Phobos Captain repositioning 3 Phobos units including the Invictor at the start of the game is very strong

If I had of just focussed down the large Necron units one at a time I would have comfortably won

Necron re-animation protocols are very strong sometimes returning up to 10 models a unit.

Instead I went for objectives and split the Invictor from the Redemptor.

I should use the Incursors as screening units and position the hellblasters behind them.

MVP Redemptor Dread

Hellblasters close second

Would probably find the points to replace the Jump pack Intercessors with DC Jump packers, there wasn't quite enough punch with the Intercessors, yes they can bully a light infantry unit and snatch an objective but an extra fist or 2 would be very helpful.

Inceptors were very good, lost one to an out of turn overwatch strat be careful with positioning

Eliminators were the Cpt's bodyguard las fusils were underwhelming

Happy with the way 10th played enjoying it which is a big thing, haven't enjoyed 8th or 9th at all

I know you already played your game, but bringing eradicators in from reserves is such a godly tactic.

I just got back from a game where 3 of them put 10 wounds on a redemptor the turn they arrived.

it's not the first time they've done shenanigans like that either. They've dropped dread knights, that redemptor, took chunks off a Hekaton, and several others!

Yes would really consider dropping the Eliminators and replacing with Eradicators, will find the extra 20 points for them.  Incursors marking a target with multi spectrum array is a huge buff to high damage shooting.  Storm of Fire in Gladius removing cover is very helpful especially with Necrons having some veil cover strategies going on.

Something I'm seeing is these new rules in 10th are very scalable I'm actually enjoying playing a lot

Las Fusil Eliminators are a bit underwhelming as anti-tank. Sniper Eliminators may work better as they can pick out buffing Characters from those big Warrior blobs to hinder their reanimation. Also, taking out the Canoptek Reanimator should be an early priority as it can buff multiple units with its resurrection aura.
