Save AP4 meltas on 3s. Mercy is weakness makes everything more deadly from whirlwinds to murderfang melee. Logan gives an on demand reroll all hits in melee so you can use oath for shooting (whirlwinds hint hint) and never lose effectiveness. I can see Cover bringing it to 1+ and Ancient Fury to 0+, what am I missing? I am wondering if Ironstorm would suit things like MSU Grey Hunters as they can pack 2 melta/plasma/grav guns in a 5-man squad and pop them in a Razorback (or 2 in a Rhino). Grey Hunters outperform Intercessors IMHO as they get AP-1 in melee and the 2 special weapons makes up for having Bolters instead of Bolt Rifles. Prot Posted October 31, 2023 Share Posted October 31, 2023 I still like the idea, and the offensive output benefits work really well with Wolves. I don't think the lack of a 1+ save actually kills this idea. I think it still gives you a firm fire base while being a strong melee force. TiguriusX Posted November 8, 2023 Author Share Posted November 8, 2023 I just entered a massive teams event 34 total teams of 5 players each We may not be the top in singles events but marines have value in teams We are good at being sacrificed into a matchup nobody else wants but still having a decent score 2 space wolves total...our faction is not very popular right now I'm running the same iron wolves concept SM FAQ removed the buff to save characteristic (didn't apply to MF or redemptors anyways) But this iron wolves concept still works. They changed how vect and free CP strats work during last update. IMO 2 doesnt have same impact anymore Murderfang is a premiere distraction carnifex and if he makes melee can ruin the day for opponent. On my team i am the sacrifice army. my job is remove scary armies and bad maps from the rotation and grind whatever points i can. My team won round 1 and I had GK I predicted 9-11 score bc marines v 2+ saves with armor of contempt are not reliable. Won the game 11-9 and murderfang grabbed a terminator plus librarian with sigil of exigence with first activation then piled in and activated again to kill 3 paladins (they failed BS and didnt score as a result) and forced my opp to divert killing power to remove murderfang or lose even more. The redemptor on the other side of the map was happy to avoid vortex of doom and stomped draigo and 5 termies into dust over 2 rounds of battle while standing on an objective with WW next to him.
