It's a pretty easy system I came up with. I use the base recipe (just with different colours) for most of my armies now. I take Vallejo mud... any kind/colour since it gets painted. And various cork bits or resin I have laying around and I just slop it on the bases. Then I start with mid/dark browns, oranges, yellows, white and I put spots of them on a dry palette. Add water, and slop the colours on and mix and match as you see fit to give a sense of different minerals/rust etc on the ground. Then after it's dry it's a matter of simple drybrush in progressive lighter colours until you're happy. (I take some of my base mixture, add water and coat the feet/shins of the model to ground them in their base environment.)
