The Pounder
So I’ve been working on some Krieg recently, and I thought I’d share my progress! I’ve gone back to a green and grey scheme accented with black and red (nothing revolutionary but is striking!) I’m starting this thread to help keep the momentum going. I’m aiming to update this thread regularly so please keep an eye on this! That’s enough preamble, here’s the pics: Death Korps of.Krieg Deathriders Death Korps of.Krieg Deathriders Death Korps of.Krieg Deathriders Death Korps of Krieg Grenadier Centaur Death Korps of Krieg Grenadier Centaur Death Korps of Krieg Grenadier Centaur Death Korps of Krieg Grenadier Centaur Death Korps of Krieg Grenadier Centaur Death Korps of Krieg Squad at Ease Death Korps of Krieg Squad at Ease Death Korps of Krieg Squad at Ease Thanks for getting past the wall of pics! Brother Captain Vakarian
Jud, I love the new color combination (kind of a reversal of your old Krieg scheme, right?) and that you're back on Krieg. Can't wait to see more. What's up next? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/381771-back-in-the-trenches/#findComment-6005534 Share on other sites
Pearson73
Very happy to see you on the Krieg again. Love the weathering of the transport/scout vehicle. Torbenos
There is something about the Krieg, the proportions perhaps, that always lend them more of a realistic aesthetic when painted up. These look lovely, of course, in particular I enjoy the centaurs. Where do you get your decals? Or is it painted? The Pounder
Thanks @Brother Captain Vakarian! I’m currently working on a Squad Advancing, it’s great to be working on some Krieg again! You’re spot on, it’s a reverse from my last colour scheme though funnily enough it’s the scheme I used originally when I was working on my “Second Barbarossa Crusade” project (was Krieg with Black Templars allies!) Cheers @Pearson73! I use the time honoured sponge for my weathering! Glad you like them. More to come! @Torbenos There really is something about Krieg! (Hence why I keep coming back for more!) I’ve been collecting GW models for donkey’s years so I have tonnes of decals from various kits, the ones used on the Centaur are from the Veteran Guardsmen Killteam and the Rogal Dorn. Thanks again for the feedback gents! Another update will be coming soon! Bonehead
Looking very good Jud. The scheme's a subtle difference from the usual, but an effective one. And of course you've applied it very skilfully. Looking forward to seeing more! TheArtilleryman
Very nice work! I love the guard armies that depart from the usual Cadian style. Great colour scheme and realistic aesthetic. The Pounder
@Bonehead Thanks very much! Cheers @lionofjudah! The decals are a mix of DKoK and Rogal Dorn. @TheArtillerymanThanks, I’m really pleased you think they look realistic! This week’s update is an Infantry Squad Advancing. I had a bit of a nightmare building this squad. The instructions were as clear as mud (haha!) with the numbers and letters not seeming to make any sense so I had to offer them up each time before gluing. It may have been because it’s an old kit now as I haven’t had any problems with more recent FW kits. I know it’s hard to get everything we want to achieve done! @TheArtilleryman cheers! I like to put as much effort as possible into each model as I can. Glad you think they’re good! @dees thanks! I like to make the Krieg look like they’ve been through it! Cheers for all the interest gents! Next update will be a couple of Command Squads. The Pounder
It’s been a while since I last updated the Krieg. This week’s offering is 2 Command Squads! Pearson73
Solid work, as per. Always liked that the Krieg were sold in different styles, and those advancing troopers look great! Banners are always cool, I agree! Will you add some heat staining or soot to the melta barrels? I think some encrusted soot would really suit the grimy feel of your guys. The Pounder
Thanks @Pearson73! I think that’s a great idea! I’ll add soot on the barrels moving forward. The Pounder
Happy New Year!! Hope everyone has a healthy and prosperous year! Finally had a chance to do some painting. This time it’s been a DKoK Centaur! Don’t see many of these around so was a joy to work on. Really glad I decided to use decals on this Krieg project. They look great and are fairly easy to apply. Orion
Happy new year! Yeah Centaurs are sick. I kinda missed the boat on them, and legit ones I've seen pop up go for insane money. Transfers are also well worth it imo. Do you have an original large sheet, or are you just using KT ones like me? Funny thing is I actually have a bunch of Centaur parts in my collection. Trojan has the same tow hook, Hades have the same track units, and the Gorgon has the same driver. I'll have to make do with that. Bonehead
Love me a centaur. Managed to grab a few just before they went oop. Lucky, I had no idea.
