You can just say 'I don't think wechat's listening', Roomsky, I won't be offended. I'm always listening.

Yes, one would imagine a book titled INTERCEPTOR CITY would feature Interceptors fighting in a City, though no doubt Abnett is using 'city' in the loose airman sense of 'this particular section of the grid is known for air battles' e.g. Ace Combat's Round Table, a fairly open stretch of wasteland between warring countries where giant dogfights pulled in all comers from nearby sectors. But it's the most nondescript background imaginable (it really does look like AoS), there's a big metal box faded into the background that could be a plane but whose proportions just never look right, whether you're looking at 'front' or 'back', with a rather unspectacular guy who has more nonessential pouches on them than a 90's X-Man (no doubt a heartfelt Abentt tribute to Liefield). There's just nothing compositionally or independently interesting about the cover. It doesn't draw me in, except to - once again - wonder at the necessity of having a honking great knife strapped on while one is, ostensibly, flying a plane.

Double Eagle was absolutely a book about People rather than Planes. But that cover is excellent. Crosshairs, big fat bombers, a desert below - you know what it's about from a glance.

Funnily enough, the one thing I can forgive on the cover is the big honking knife. Having been around military aviators my entire life (my father was in a fighter squadron), I know multiple guys that flew/currently fly with Bowie knives strapped to their thighs in case they go down. May be an American thing, I'm not sure.

BL and GW being completely disjointed at operating.

BL has always been bad. GW has dropped the mask and is clearly just as bad if not as outright anti-fan as they used to be.

Dysfunction is now the name of the game for GW and letting BL rot is just part of that.

Its been over two years since they released an ADB book, im thinking its not because the books havent been written but rather because they are afraid of another scalping incident.

I really dont think so. I am sure they would bring an ADB book for publication if they actually had it.

I wonder why there is no reprint for Double Eagle planned to coincide with the release of Interceptor City.

Yeah, I thought we would get a new Double Eagle edition to match up with the Interceptor City LE release.  Maybe they are waiting for Dan to do a third so they can put out a 3 book slipcase edition in another 20 odd years?

I'd suggest because the person responsible for reprinting books will only find out about Interceptor City several years in the future while browsing back through this very thread. Their monocle will pop out. Their suspenders will go 'sproiiiing'. The cat will yowl in the background.

Then they'll do another run of Xenos.

Interesting talk by former Warhammer writer Chris Dows from the Warhammer Conference; subject includes talking about his experience working on Khârn: The Red Path, Elysian Drop Troops audio dramas, and Titan's Bane.

Well im guessing with TEATD over with, we might see some anthology to close off the Siege from some leaks, theres also the final Primarch novel to come out, I wouldnt doubt that they are sleeping on at least BL3 until something preceding it comes out. From reading the authors' afterwards from some novels released recently it seems like some books were written a long time ago.  I also dont think theres any coincidence that since TEAND vol 3 was released we have seen a sum total of 0 books being heavily scalped or the website crashing due to demand because they are deliberately releasing novels/CE that are not in high demand or overwhelmingly popular.

I would be interested to see what happens when The Infinite and the Divine CE comes out.

The Horus Primarch novel doesn't exist. After McNeill hinted at it, there was absolutely nothing and I'm pretty sure he was asked if he had any work in the pipe with BL and he was like 'nope, call me tho?'. It will be literally the most baffling decision in the world if there's not a Scouring series, though.

Those Chris Dows audio dramas were ace. The Elysians were framed so well, and Titan's Bane has such a good ending, too. Great stuff, and it's a shame they axed audio dramas entirely.

I found the bit about being assigned you own part of the setting to play in interesting.  It was a clever way to make the galaxy vast and keep characters from stepping on each others toes.  Not sure that is still in play in the Era Indomitus, but that could just be me.

Broken Crusade is up for pre-order next weekend in all formats (including LE)

Also a paperback of Da Big Dakka and two different horror audio collections

Also there are a ton of typos in the pre-order article. Moreso than usual

"The standalone release of this multiplayer miniature has a number of head and weapon options to customise your own pitiless reaver."

"all whole is Glovodan Psyber-eagle soars high above the melee"

Just finished Above and Beyond. I enjoyed it. It has a darkness to it that I think people here will enjoy. The moments of Darkness reminded me a bit of Fehervari without the dreamlike weirdness or chaotic wrongness. It had one classic grimdark gut punch. It also made the

Eldar

pretty interesting.

A couple of niggles

the plot point at the start about the commissar having a pysker seems to have been dropped and ultimately leads nowhere, unless I missed something. A plot point from Outgunned about how the Von Shards might not actually be related doesn't crop up. I don't mind this second one tbh. It can come up again in another novel if the author wants.

I'm interested to see what Denny will do with other characters.

The best they could do for is an audio collection for Horror...? Not even a few short stories?

....and they haven't even finished that Morghast 4-parter novel series yet. It's dead, innit?

SMC and WH Crime differ because those are not series but rather imprints. Morghast was announced as a 4-book series.

But yes, it's frustrating how often BL just abandons projects. And then they wonder why people don't want to commit to a new series.

System Sound's speed is speedier than mine

but I am full-on hype for this novel. Never read anything by that author (I don't believe so anyway) but FINALLY a non-Phil Kelly Tau novel, with Raptors in it as well? Just go ahead and sign me up right now

I loved 'Godeater's Son,' one of the best Age of Sigmar novels. Even if you're not a fan of that setting, please read it. It's an excellent look into falling to Chaos.

I have high expectations for this one. Finally, it's not by Kelly, whose books I can't stand.

My thoughts exactly! Though I am not really a Tau fan...I read Phil Kellys horrible, horrible "War of Secrets" that featured Tau...I can only imagine the horror he'd inflict if given a full novel with them. And my poor Dark Angels..they still hurt from the treat he, Phil, gave them in that book...best forgotten, it is!
