a rarely spotted unit how do we rate it. is it a sleeper unit? or should it burrow deeper... thoughts

 

  • To compliment a list, or to build a list around? Will the beta rules affect your list(s)? And at what points restrictions?
  • What size unit? Will you be running multiple units?
  • What Enhancements, Hyper Adaptations and Stratagems do you prefer and how much does it depend on the above choices?
  • Are you buffing this unit? If so, how

I'd initially overlooked these - they are at a similar price point to Lictors, VRL's and a couple of other things, and I initially felt that VRL's with infiltrate and strike first would be better at getting into combat, however a revisit make me rethink.

 

Raveners have native deepstrike and the ability to dissappear from the table into DS at the end of the opponent's turn, which is a HUGE thing in 10th. The fact that you can pop them off the table, wait to see what secondary you draw then deepstrike them into the right place is invaluable, and I might try to get 2 units into the army if I can. 7A Twin Linked is also nothing to sniff at, and they will mulch through GEQ
