eastern barbarian Posted January 1 Author Share Posted January 1 I would like to think that I got most bases covered- fair bit of fast Multi melta and lascannon stuff to deal with vehicles, even a little air threat from Xiphon. Suzerains and Contemptor to deal with more terminator-y kind of units, headhunters to ... well, headhunt :) Effrit disruptors and despoilers to add to close distance threat. Saboteur praetor to be a wild card when needed Deredeo dreadnought to deal with potential flyers of the opponents and lighter armoured targets. Razorblade Posted January 1 Share Posted January 1 (edited) First up I think you have a nice mix of units in the list, lots of variance, nothing too obnoxious, but generally strong choices. h However I think there's room for improvement in how you run them. -Armilus should really have a Command Squad, theyre among the best units anyway and have great value with his Warlord trait as you get to infiltrate him and the squad for the "price" of one unit. -The Saboteur is better of with a Sabre or Lightning Claws as he will lose a fight against anything he'd need the Fist for anyway. -Generally speaking the Base Fist is better than the Chainfist on Contemptors, as it is better into terminators and other Dreadnoughts (also cheaper) -Destroyers are never worth it over regular assault squads. You could probably mix the models with regular mkiv assault marines if you'd like to use them. -The Suzerains really need at least a couple Hammers to deal with dreadnoughts and cataphractii -Head Hunters are much better as small units with Combi-Melta/Plasma than as large units with the Bolters. -13 is an odd number for tacticals but that is purely my pedantism :D -I wouldn't mix weapons on the javelins especially since the lascannons are so cheap and so much better than the cyclone. -I also really wouldn't mix weapons on the jetbikes. -Unfortunately the Anvillus Autocannons have almost no relevant targets, I'd take either of the other guns instead. Razorblade Posted January 3 Share Posted January 3 You run into the same problem with the rhinos in the revised list as you did with the land raider in the original (have to start in reserve). Apothecaries aren't great value in 10 man squads so I'd consider cutting the Rhinos and one Apo and consolidating the tacticals into 2 15-Man squads. That should save you enough points to get an assault or Recon squad if you feel you need the fifth line unit. Other than that I'd say the command squad needs a Fist or two for hard targets and power swords unfortunately are inferior to pretty much any other weapon but everything else looks good.
