OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH That's a nice model. And again more MK4!

Edit: After the original hype spike; I'll probably replace the blade as that feels too 40k chaos-ey for me but other than that excellent design imho. Also very curious to see if this is what new plastic mk4s will look like.

The more I look at him, the easier he looks to just... swap out the head and sword (plus the Eye of Horus' for Loyalists) and run him as a generic Praetor without too much grief.

Edit: I say after it's already been mentioned on this thread.

I was actually looking for a model to do a Lucius the Eternal conversion for my Corsairs, this guys mostly perfect

And if I scratch the eye off the should pad, the crossed axes can mean he's a traitor Executioners chapter member

Certainly at first glance i wrote him off as a bit generic but there are some nice details there, i might be tempted to pick him up for my army depending on cost.

And yeah, the sword is a bit chaosy... Thats the point

Why? Not sure he's ever described as an overtly chaos worshipper or using those kind of blades.

Edit: NVM found the description in the Legacies characters document:
The Culling Blade

A serrated night-black blade of unknown origin, the Culling Blade was presented to Tybalt Marr by Maloghurst the Twisted before Marr’s departure to hunt down the Loyalist survivors of Isstvan

So you're right, it does actually fit.

I also love that the mini is pretty close to this excellent art of the character:

Oh goodie! Another :cuss:ing Sons of Horus character….because we were worried that we didn’t have enough…

This is getting ridiculous. We have as many Sons of Horus characters as we have :cuss:ing primaris lieutenants.

I suspect we're getting Tybalt because of Shadrak. Without one, we'd likely not be seeing the other. Releasing them as a duo does make sense imo.

Aximand is more debatable,

I mean. It's called the Horus Heresy. Horus and his Sons are the stars of the show really lol

Think after Aximand the SoH time in the spotlight is done for a bit so they're getting all the named characters out now. Should be at least; I'm a happy Sons collector but at this point it's getting a bit egregious.

Hope other legions will get the same treatment.

I think this model is the first SoH model that hasn’t knocked it out of the park for me.

It isn’t a bad model in any stretch of imagination, it’s perfectly fine, but IMO SoH were the only Legion where every single model they had was a 10 to me.

Now they have a solid 6 in that lineup.

Marr was the last Sons of Horus character from 1E without a model, to be fair - it's honestly fine that they've ticked the mode box. Aximand gives us at least 3/4 of the Mournival at the outbreak of the war, ignoring Tarik Torgaddon. I do agree these are likely to be the last SoH we see for some time; although I suspect Tarik, Tormageddon and Falkus Kibre may well be on the docket at some stage.

Hopefully we'll be moving on to other legions now.

Aximand is more debatable,

I'd expect all the characters getting printed there will get miniatures and move from 'Expanded' to 'Core', otherwise they wouldn't print them there.

It'd be different if it was a book similar to the Exemplary Battles, but this is a more full expansion.

I actually really like how over the top the sword is compared to the rest of the model. Maloghurst clearly knew where things were headed for the legion and gave it to Marr. The rest of Marr, however, is very Sons of Horus post-Istvaan before things got really Chaos-y. He was detached early on and it's easy to see in his armour that this is/was a Hero of the Imperium.
