So the Death Company upgrade will be applied to various marine units, right?

Could explain the number of datasheets in the codex even if some older units are getting culled.

I imagine there will be seperate datasheets for DC, DC with Jump Pack, DC Brutalis, DC Captain?

Ah, well if thats your perspective at least I know where you are coming from.

I mean for a person who is supposedly on a battlefield the model’s feet are too close together,  the pistol out, and the crozius back just makes no sense, it’s an awkward pose.

We do see death company marines getting a sheet in the images. Everything else might be done like in 9th edition where you could give different units the death company keyword.

So, what do we all think the inevitable redo of the combat patrol will look like?

My guess

1 captain

5 SG

1 brutalis

5 intercessor

maybe swap the Brutalis for 5 jump intercessors and 5 assault intercessors

Once again, the math on this was done earlier in the thread; removing DC w/JJ brings us down to 18, adding in Jump Jet DC AI is 19, removing FB DC is back down to 18.

No other changes need to be made.

Applying a DC mod to other units would easily come from Detatchment rules, or from enhancements (For something like a DC Captain).

He's landing, one foot alraedy mostly down another about to land.  Models were smaller back then, I can forgive the close feet.

The crozius is held out and away as he's balancing himself coming down as his pistol shoots the enemy.  The pose is like, easily one of the best Marine poses ever; it oozes disdain for Horus and his ilk.

I disagree, but considering your stated position there is no way we can align.

Allow me to add my two bolt shells-worth:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

GW, like a Vidicare, have specifically and accurately targeted my wallet and I don’t even regret taking the hit. Today is a good day.

Unqualified happiness, right here. This box is a must-buy and the hints of more to come is even better.

yay.

Don't think it came with a single one, actually. Our launch box had only half the the number of a troops, a single crusader squad of 10, which is a bespoke kit with its own BT bits. The later combat patrol would come with some though, again, probably not that many, as half the troops were made out of the crusader kit, and then some extra intercessors.

It came with two upgrade sprues like the BT one.  It took two sprues to get enough Dark Angels pads for the Terminators.  The Knights didn't need anything being DA specific.

Not a bad box, but I'm happier with our DA's box than I would be with this one.  I believed Valrak but you'd have thought they'd have put the new models in it besides the characters.  It's not bad though.

I looked at him walking over the rock.

your interpretation of the pose is even worse.

he wouldn’t need to use his arm to help balance his landing out if his feet were farther apart, straddling the rock.

ive never used a jump pack, but I’ve jumped from decent heights before, and never did I consider landing feet side by side like that.

Try balancing without your arms, god speed brother!  Nor would I want to land "Straddling a rock"!  My precious geneseed!

Anyways, we can move on.  We understand you don't like it, you're not going to convince anyone who doesn't already have the same opinion, and let's keep the thread on track.

I'm a little sad we don't have a BA version of the Bladeguard style helmet on the upgrade sprue, I will just hve to jealously ration my few remaining of the similar ones from the Death Company kit.

Otherwise agree with those above, would have preferred a higher ornate helmets to bare head ratio and more of the 'current' chapter logo.

Noooooooooooooo! But also Yesssss!

My wallet is so going to hurt!

Blood Angels are my first love in 40K and I’ve been waiting for the inevitable transition from

old marines to new primaris. It’s one of the reasons I set Blood Angels to the side.

But Inquistion too which is another of my love for the factions in the game!

I’m going to be buying me some boxes soon. Whoever said GW had a vindicare shot to the wallet was right!

For Sanguinius!

Now back to painting GSC, after I finish some Perry Sudan war minis of course (what the heck this hobby has taken over my life).

I am wondering if maybe DC get to keep at least 1 inferno pistol per squad; the arms are painted black on the upgrade sprue pictures, which to me at least leans towards the DC loadout being;

(Assuming 5 man squad)

5x JJ

1x inferno on SGT

1x Specialty Pistol otherwise

3x HBP

4x Chainswords

1x Eviscerator (For same reasons as the inferno pistol above; arms are painted black, I doubt they'll give BA access to eviscerator anywhere else and lock out other factions)

Double that up for 10 man squads?

…do you not know how to balance without flailing your arms around?

I get not everyone is athletic and outdoorsy but I thought everyone could balance themselves without constantly having to flail their arms barring some sort of inner ear issues.

as for the rock, are you like the height of Cotton Hill that a 1-2 ft tall rock is going to endanger your ‘geneseed’?

like I’m legit curious what kind of life experiences have led to this sort or world outlook.

Where is the OG Lemartes flailing?  He's got an arm, with a half ton club of adamantium held out to the side for balance as he's landing from a jump.  The pose is pretty cool, isn't supposed to be 100% physically perfect, and is evocative of an angel landing, encapsulating the disdain that the BA have for Horus and his ilk; a feeling that definitely comes through with the model as it was.

BUT ONCE AGAIN, DROP IT, NO ONE CARES.  We're all trying to move on.

Edit: Deleting the last sentence.  Not worth lowering myself to your level.  I'll be moving on.
