I love this mini. After you read about these characters for so long it's always interesting to me to see what you imagined being produced in physical form. This is close...

I really like the pose, not over the top but sinister looking. Love the ornate armour and shield too.

Helmet looks sick and is pretty much as described in solar war.

The sword....isn't. Mourn-it-all was described as being a great sword, with a blade as broad as mortal's should-span. I never imagined it being used one handed as a thrusting sword paired with a large shield, probably as it's also described as a "slaughter man's blade" which is more apt for chopping, and because we've seen previous artwork of him two handing it (the same artwork they pulled a ton of other elements from). Also, speaking of the shield, don't remember little horus using one with mourn it all.

Oh well, I'm sure people will make more accurate versions with the core of the model.

It's nice, but if I didn't know it was Little Horus and someone asked me 'who is this', I'd just think it was another Legion Praetor.

Sigismund, Tarvitz, Lucius, Eidolon, Erebus, Polux all look like proper named characters - the recent SoH releases look like very nice praetors.

IMO, of course.

I agree with this. Especially the earlier characters like Khârn, Polux, Typhon etc. I will say though that opinion is helped by the fact they used to come with scenic bases and were closer to mini dioramas as opposed to standard single models. Not the most practical thing for using in games, but I do miss them.

This model's another nice insight into the assumed MKIV do-over. I'm liking it.

They've done the bare head well.

Agree. This mini is peak.

The sheer brutality of the helmet's Cthonian drip doesn't mesh well wih the filigree, but it's not a problem because his Chogorisian shave is just too iconic. And the helmet will be a killer piece for kitbashes.

Such a good model but dear god am I disappointed by the sword and board.

I wanted the giant Berserk-style weapon described in the books, not yet another generic longsword.

And nothing about little Horus, especially post-fall aligns with a shield of all things.

A bizarre and needless change that takes away from an otherwise great model. Especially when it affects a part of the character which is discussed with an unusual frequency (in terms of the discussion of his weapon).

Ya I just reread little horus since I didn't remember much besides his face getting cut off; the sword isn't described as huge, he uses a shield, and favours a thrusting technique with the two. So fair enough, faithful to the first story, but I think Horus had it remade in vengeful spirit which explains the change to mega-sword. And it was the second version that was used after his face got cut off, so it's still kinda out of sync with the timeline.

But oh well, following the established lore isn't really specialist games strong suit in 2nd edition.

Great work on the armour, especially the lid and the face paint job is top notch, good to see they are keeping that recent change up.

The sword is generic, which is a shame for a named weapon that actually gets some description and character itself. The shield is my real head scratcher though, when you are building a specific special character and your choice of moulded heraldry is an eye of horus... and then a second eye of horus? So two eyes? /facepalm

I suspect this wasnt sculpted as Aximand initially, its a lovely model but its lacking that specificity id like to see in a special character. One step closer to an out of synch mournival though! :P

I really like the model and will probably grab it for a kitbash of my own, but when Little Horus was mentioned having a combat shield I had pictured in my mind one similar to the ones in the old Assault Squad (rip) box which would allow him to use it two handed at a pinch rather than a near-boarding shield one.
