Popular Post Brother Tyler
I have been very negligent in my duties and am only now getting around to something that I should have done long ago - announcing the retirement of several of our moderators. The Moderati perform a crucial function here at the site. While the site exists to serve the hobby needs of the members of our community, predominantly those in the Frater Domus group, the Moderati are critical in the day-to-day functions of the site. Any community, especially one as large as ours and comprising members from across the globe, will have points of friction. The Moderati, as their name implies, perform the vital role of moderating behaviors within the community standards described in our forum rules. This work is far more challenging than you might think, and considerable activity takes place behind the scenes. Service as a moderator is strictly voluntary and the members that choose to take up the mantle give up their own free hobby time to do so, sacrificing for the benefit of the community. The amount of work performed by the moderators is far beyond what a small team might be capable of, requiring a substantial number of dedicated hobbyists to serve the community. The Moderati, like the rest of us, are human beings and, therefore, imperfect; but they collectively work to ensure that this site remains a welcoming and productive place for all members so that we can all enjoy the hobby. The site would be far worse were it not for the dedication and sacrifice of these members. We are all indebted to them for their contributions. To date, we have had close to 200 members that have served the board in various capacities. Each sacrifices their time for the community as a whole. Each serves a tour of duty whose length is determined by them - remember that they are all volunteers and Life has other demands on them. Inevitably, they retire from their duties for one reason or another, joining the ranks of the Moderati Cedos. Three such members have retired in the last few months (okay, "few" is an understatement in two cases). I should have announced these retirements much sooner, but I have been a slacker. I will subject myself to 10 minutes in the pain glove in penance. Please join me in thanking the following mods for all of their hard work and dedication (listed in order of retirement): @Chaplain Lucifer @Kelborn @Brother Lunkhead It would be impossible for me to overstate how thankful I am that each of them served as Moderati - the site and community are better for their efforts and I greatly enjoyed working alongside each of them. lansalt, Ulfast, Cpt_Reaper and 49 others 1 4 47 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/382715-recent-moderator-retirements/ Share on other sites
Ace Debonair
I raise my paintbrush in salute to you, honoured Moderati, for I've seen the three of you at work keeping order in these hallowed halls many a time. Thank you all for helping make this the best forum about our favourite little plastic dudes! Kelborn
When Brother Tyler once contacted me and asked if I'd like to join the ranks of the moderator team, I was flabbergasted at first but of course, I accepted. Being a moderator was a great honor for me and this team was able to bring some new and necessary changes (for example the pronoun adaptations). Change is the only constant thing in life and trying to be stagnant always leads to ruin. A lot would agree with that. Some few don't. It is what it is. Nonetheless, seeing many of those mods I looked up to retiring, was to be honest, a difficult period of time. In the end, reallife catches up on each and everyone of us and throughout the last months, I wasn't able to spend as much time as was needed to fullfill the role of a moderator to the fullest. Hence my decision to retire, as well. I leave with a sad and a happy eye (as the saying goes). Sad to leave a great part of my spent time here behind and happy to leave certain parts of that spent time behind. Some might take a guess as to what I'm talking about one posting above me was so kind to give you a clue ;) @Brother Captain Arkley Thanks, man. If you need anything, you can always pm me, even as a regular Frater. That goes for everyone, of course. @Ace Debonair Thank you, Ace. You were always a constant part of the community! It's members like you that kept me motivated. :D @Doctor Perils <3 To the wider community: thanks for the support and respect you gave me. Always tried to keep the BL section a good place for discussion and exchange. To those mods remaining (you know who you are): <3 Keep it up! Remember to embrace change. Even if you won't like it, the world's keep spinning. To @Chaplain Lucifer and @Brother Lunkhead all the best in the world! You earned your retirement. Prot
Some great old timers there that will be sorely missed. Thanks for all that you've done.
